Morning Glory is a pet friendly cabin. Please see the last paragraph of this description summary for pet fees and pet policies...
Please note that a mailing address will be requested for the reservation file upon booking this home.
Morning Glory' at RIVERWALK...Private, Cozy AND Immaculate! Spend a weekend or a week in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Great location for every season of the year!
Morning Glory provides a large private hot tub just outside the front door on the deck. Sit in one of the front porch rockers to enjoy the view of the Cane River below as it flows past the cabin. At night, look up and be amazed by the abundant number of stars in the sky like you've never seen before.
What would a mountain cabin be without the scent and warmth of a wood burning fireplace? Each of our cabins has a wood burning fireplace. We provide free and unlimited wood for our guests during the cooler months of the year so you can enjoy cozy fires all day and all night, if you'd like.
If you demand comfort and ease while away from home, you'll find it here! Each kitchen is equipped as if it were our own for year round use. We also provide a starter supply of coffee, the filters, sugar and artificial sweeteners so you can arrive late, if necessary, and without feeling pressure to immediately run out for supplies. Starter toilet paper, paper towels and bath soap are provided. Dish soap, dishwasher soap, and laundry soap are provided in unlimited supply. If you need something out of the ordinary, let us know. Chances are we can make it available. Once you check in we want you to sit back and relax.
Comfort, we demand it and so should you! Every guest will rest well in our beds. Our mattresses are all Simmons Beautyrest and guests continue to give our beds the highest marks. Each cabin sleeps up to 4 guests. The master bedroom has a queen bed while the loft bedroom upstairs provides guests the option of either a pair of twin beds or a single king size bed. Simply specify your preference when booking the reservation. Each of the 2-floors has a full size bathroom.
High speed wireless internet, a landline telephone and extended basic cable TV is all included in our cabins.
All the property surrounding our cabins is family owned and available for exploration by our guests. In the Riverwalk community is a barn and horse arena owned by Laura's parents, Paul & Judi Ewing (the original Riverwalk cabin owners). While trail riding is not available, guests may book a social visit with Judi's horses just by giving her a call. Her phone number is listed in the Welcome (information) Book in the cabin. Kids especially get a kick out of learning how to care for and groom a horse. Donations made on behalf of the Yancey County Humane Society are appreciated (but not required).
Laura and her husband, Brett, own the adjacent property to Riverwalk, along Sunset Ln. Morning Glory guests are welcome to enjoy easy river access from a path along Sledrunner Rd just a short distance behind the cabin or from Sunset Ln with ease.
2-wheel drive vehicles are usually adequate to get to and from the cabins to the state road. If you have any difficulty whatsoever, we live just around the corner and are available to help you 24/7.
PETS: While we are pet friendly, we do have a fee and minor requirements: The fee for a single pet is $75, 2-pets is $100. These fees apply whether booking for a couple of days or longer. VRBO has a "pets" box to check if you plan to travel with pets, but limit the ability to spell out fees and terms. If you are bringing pets, but forget to check the box or include in your initial email to me, I will ask. We do not permit pets on the furniture, on the beds or use any of the cabin linens for pets (regardless of size or habit). This said, please be sure to bring comfy accommodations for your pets.
Thank you :-)

Repeat stay at this hidden gem. Beautiful in the fall and winter. Hot tub is awesome and location next to a river is pretty sweet. Spacious, wonderful, wonderful views.
Cabin was cozy and private. Nice hot tub overlooking water. Leaves have just started changing colors. Loved sitting in rocking chairs with hot coffee watching the leaves fall.
This was our first visit to Burnsville, and we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very private, and was super cute, had everything we needed. It was very clean, and the host was wonderful. We were there in October, so the color of the leaves could not have been better. Oh, and the hot tub is amazing! And if you don’t feel like venturing out, there’s a lot to see right there on the property, The Cane River runs right through, very pretty.
If you like sleeping on a cloud and stepping out on the front porch to a magical setting in the North Carolina Smoky Mountains, this is your happy place! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful home. The loft bedroom is like sleeping in an uber-comfortable tree house, very cool. The house has everything you need for an easy, comfortable stay, great beds, lovely location, and a friendly host. Thank you Laura for creating such a terrific haven!
Cabin was great. Very clean and very well stocked. The host Laura was very helpful. Lots of local information in notebook provided in the cabin. About 40-50 minutes north of Asheville. Town doesn't have very many restaurants and most close early but the local grocer Ingles is very well stocked. Great hiking in the area. About 1 hour from Grandfather Mountain (absolutely beautiful!) Hot tub after a day of hiking was fabulous.
Location was perfect - close to town, but far enough away to enjoy the serenity of the woods. Beautiful 15m drive to Ingles grocery store for supplies if needed - has a Starbucks and excellent selection of fresh produce and meats.
Cabin had great views of the stream and an enjoyed a quick walk to it. Cabin was so cozy and peaceful. Had all of the amenities of home. Quick wifi and plenty of streaming channels along w sports networks for the games.
Great grill and the kids loved the hot tub.
Will definitely be back if I don’t try and buy it! Lol
The house was very nice & offered privacy. Rocking chairs on the porch were a great place to relax with a morning coffee. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep, & we enjoyed having dinner at the outdoor dining table. The beds & bedding were very comfortable. The whole house was well appointed & the owner has paid attention to detail so that you have everything you might need (hair dryer, iron, starter coffee, etc.). The neighborhood is lovely. I would like to note that the river is not accessible from the house. You have to drive down to the pavilion area for access. Overall, this is a wonderful & relaxing place to stay. I would definitely return.
Close to Burnsville, but far enough away to allow for a wonderful relaxing weekend. The home sits on the hillside above a beautiful river and there’s hiking on the property. The check-in process was seamless and all of our questions prior to arrival were answered promptly. This is a fantastic property and we hope to return again.
My friend and I lived our stay over Christmas, we had a ball!! Laura was super proactive, our stay was during an especially cold spell. We would definitely stay there again!
This was an amazing cabin…we had a wonderful time exploring the grounds and the area..we highly recommend this property.

The Cabin is clean and comfortable with a really nice porch. It is attractively furnished and decorated and you are really getting a lot for your money. We really enjoyed the hot tub, the pool and the riverside pavilion area. If we come back to this area we will definitely choose To stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub overlooking the river was an added bonus. Plenty of firewood provided for the fireplace and firepit. Will definitely condsider staying again!
Beautiful, rustic area with shopping and dining within 15 minutes
This beautiful, secluded cabin offers everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Enjoy direct access to the river on the property, complete with tubes for some fun on the water and soothing river sounds around the cabin. For families, reliable internet is available when needed. Our experience was further enhanced by Laura, who was amazing—offering easy check-in, great communication, and thoughtful accommodation. Great place to go!
We stayed at Riverwalk for 4 days in 2010 and had an absolutely fantastic time. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and amenities. The location is great, close to Asheville but still far away to feel like you are "getting away". Great hiking in the area. Thanks for a great place to stay! We will be back!
