Villa with stunning lagoon views and pool

  • Modern and luxurious detached villa in the exclusive area of Foz do Arelho. Stunning views of much of the picturesque Obidos Lagoon – from pool, gardens, lounge and main bedrooms. The villa is in a wonderful position which catches the sun all day and is well sheltered from any cool ocean breezes. There are four bedrooms - two are ensuite with separate walk in wardrobe areas. The bedrooms comprise three superking beds, a double bed, and a bunkbed for two. There are two additional bathrooms. Two pull out beds and a sofabed in games room also available. In addition to the breakfast bar in the kitchen, there are two sitting areas and a dining area. A games room comprising pool table, table tennis table and home cinema is also available. Heated private pool (at a cost), BBQ area, large gardens to the front and rear. Bikes are available at the villa - two adult and two childrens' bikes are free for use of guests, while the owner's premium bikes are available for rent. Sailing school, world class golf, wonderful restaurants and historic places of interest in the area. A perfect base for beach or golf or luxury family holiday.

What a lovely, comfortable villa with a fabulous heated pool and all the facilities we needed for a brilliant week. Good location, and with a car (recommended) we could explore the local sights, restaurants and beaches.

Great stay in beautiful Foz Villa

Lovely villa, clean and well equipped, great location, stunning views of the lagoon. The owners of the villa were friendly, personable and willing to be adaptable and offered to go the extra mile (we were affected by industrial action which altered some of our arrangements). Informative and useful check-in by the property manager, Alison. Couldn't fault either the villa or its location. In all a lovely holiday.

Amazing view, quite environment

The house is spacious and has a beautifull garden. The views are amazing. The presence of the jacuzzi and a big swimming pool are super. There are bikes present, and the environment is beautifull for biking. In Foz there are good restaurants were you can eat very well for a small privé. If I have to say something less good then I would say that the equipment in the kitchen is poor. If you are staying with 9 people and you want to cook yourself, pots and pans are to small. We enjoyed our holiday in Foz very much, and we hope to return Some day.

Home was clean, well equipped. It has a great grilling area just off the kitchen. The game room is perfect for evening entertainment. Communication with the host and property manager was great! View is amazing!

Fabulosa!

Casa muito moderna com todas as comodidades e excelente decoração. Sra. Alison muito prestável e atenciosa, e correspondeu sempre que solicitamos algo. Piscina com uma vista deslumbrante sobre a Lagoa de Óbidos. Jacuzzi externo muito agradável. Sala de jogos/multimédia muito bem equipada. A repetir.

Beautiful views over Óbidos lagoon

A lovely 2 week stay - plenty of room for two families, well worth heating the pool (sea was very cold even in August) and we loved the hottubs. Biking was great - worth noting 2 of the 4 bikes that come with villa are kid bikes so worth supplementing with the extra ones. Views from the balcony were wonderful at both ends of the day.

Absolutely fantastic and lovely villa

During our stay we were 9 people in the age of 21-23 years from Germany and we went there for the first time. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in the villa. The villa is equipped with everything you need for your stay. Many entertainment options are available and it offers plenty of space to get together, even in larger groups. Before the holiday we got a very detailed summary of places in the area you can visit and instructions on how to use the individual equipment in the villa. The images on the website are 100% consistent with what we found during our visit. We were surprised that the villa actually looked even better and bigger than in the pictures. The garden is well maintained and the pool is huge. There is a beautiful view over the lagoon and you can watch the sunset from the garden or from the balcony. In the town there is a small grocery store, about 5 minutes away by car. If you want to make a bigger purchase of food, there is a large supermarket, located about 15 minutes by car from the villa. The contact with the owners of the villa and the property manager was very uncomplicated and super nice. On arrival the property manager Alison showed us everything, she was as clarified, punctual and reliable at the villa. We would like to thank the owners and the property manager for the stay and we will book a stay in this villa again.

Bellisimo

We have just had a 7 night stay at this wonderful villa. there were 7 adults 2 children and 2 9 month old babies and plenty of room for everyone. The pool was superb as was the games room on an evening. If you require transfers from the airport do contact Alison the property manager ( Who provided great service and information throughout our stay) and ask for Daniel. He was our taxi driver all week and provided a professional, friendly and excellent service it's about 120 euros each way from Lisbon to the villa per car. It will be at least 150 euro if you get a cab outside the airport. Daniel will also have child seats if you ask for them- other cabs at the airport will not. The restaurants at the beach are about 30 minutes walk as are the ones in the village. We tried a couple of beach bars and ate at Tavola in the village . All were very good and very cheap . We used the well equipped BBQ a couple of times purchasing meat from the large supermarket in Caldas da Rainha it is 13.50 euro in a taxi and has a fruit and veg market daily, lovely park nice restaurants with a large shopping centre, definitely worth a visit if you need to stock up. If you prefer you can get supplies from the butcher (not open monday) and mini markets in the village. I would also pack the insect repellent as all of the adults in our party did suffer bites if you forget the pharmacy in the village have every thing you need ( it is up a side street behind the bakery). Also the laundry room was really useful. The views from the villa ate amazing. Wish we were still there!

Great villa, wonderful location.

We were 5 adults and 2 children (9 & 6). Plenty of space for all of us. The pool and the hot tub were very popular. The views are stunning. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. Very helpful information in the book provided - how everything works, local restaurants, shopping and attractions.

Fantastic family location

We stayed for a week, 9 of us (me & my wife, our three adult children and their partners plus our granddaughter. Accommodation was bright and clean with luxurious touches. Two rooms have ensuites. From many parts of the house and the garden you get good views of the lagoon and the ocean. The pool was well used as was the hot tub for noisy evenings. There is a games room with pool table which converts to a ping pong table. It has a TV projector. It was great to watch England on a 6ft high screen. There is A/C in every room except the games room. We ate out in local restaurants, which are all fairly small and family run. Perfect. We also cooked a few meals using the built in charcoal barbecue and sat at the large table on the decking. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances and utensils, including a Dolce Gusto coffee machine. The local area is very quiet, no great developments or giant hotels. The beach has two sides, the ocean facing side popular with surfers and the lagoon side popular with families and kindergartens. You will need a hire car to get around. A short drive takes you to Calde des Rainhas where you can get supermarket shopping (we like E.Leclerc) plus fast food if you need it. Places to visit: we went to: Obidos a beautiful medieval walled town. Buddha Garden, a stunning park full of statues. Praia do S.Miguel a small seaside resort in a protected sandy cove. Peniche and Nazare are other good seaside fishing villages good for sandy beaches and fresh fish restaurants. You can get into Lisbon in an hour too. Communication with the owner and the local agent was excellent.

Myself and 6 other ladies booked a week at this villa for our yearly trip. We had never visited this region so didn’t know what to expect. Transfers were organised through the owners as was a starter pack so we at least had something when we arrived. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a very impressive villa which is fully detached and sits up the hill from the lagoon. The views from the villa overlooking the lagoon and Atlantic are beautiful!! Alyson the housekeeper (English lady) met us there and explained everything we needed to know and more re where to go, what to see, very helpful! Once inside the villa this also didn’t disappoint, this large modern 2 storey 4 bedroom accommodation was just perfect!! It had everything we needed and more. Outside the pool, gardens and bbq area again were just perfect for our needs. It took about 30 minutes to stroll into the town where we found restaurants and a very good supermarket, not large but seemed to have everything. I would say if you like to go out and about hire a car but saying that the taxis were very good. Would we return, yes we would, do we recommend, yes we do!!!

A fantastic property and location to relax and have fun.

We had 4 adults 2 teenagers and one child and the property was very spacious and could cope with more. All of the facilities were exactly as described and the property was very well maintained and looked after. The advice and help we got from the owners and managers was brilliant and their local knowledge was excellent. Easy to travel from the location to lots of interesting places. The property itself made us feel very relaxed from the minute we arrived and was easy to live in for two weeks. I really cant compliment the owners enough as they made it one of the best holidays we have had just because of how relaxing and spacious it was. The heated pool was brilliant as was the hot tub. The games room was lots of fun and BBQ area was used nearly every day. Great Kitchen and dining room and would give the property 10 out 10 for how liveable it was. Fantastic holiday for two families. Incredible luxury villa with home comforts and stunning views.

This property was beautiful, comfortable and family friendly. We had a fantastic week exploring the local beaches, restaurants and towns. Obidos is a great day out as is the Buddha Gardens. Lovely pool with stunning views. Highly recommend.

Wonderful vacations!

We've rented this place for 2 weeks, 4 adults and 6 children. We had a great time! It's a very quiet place. We've enjoyed very much the view and the kids played a lot in the pool and around the house. The house is very spacious both inside and outside. Communicating with Chris was really easy and efficient. It was very appreciated! When we arrived at the house, you could learn a lot from the place and the area because they're was a booklet done by the owner with all the information needed. Very practical! The beach is steps away. We've enjoyed the waves by bodyboarding even though sometimes they were big! And don't worry, part of the beach is well supervised. Also, if you have toddlers, there's the lagoon where it's much more calmer. Foz de Arhelo is a small town, you can find everything you need. The restaurants are not expensive at all. There's a chicken place on the main street where you can order to take away, we went almost everyday! We highly recommend this place, it's a very nice house to spend some quality time with your family and friends!

Stunning views, amazing location, perfect holiday

We stayed in the villa in April and the weather was perfect, sunshine everyday. It was our first holiday as a family of 4 and I was a little nervous about travelling with a 7 month old and a 2 1/2 year old. I needent have been as Chris was really helpful in answering questions and the villa had a high chair, travel cot and a hand blender to help us with the baby. My daughter loved the swings and played with the provided toys. It was hard convincing her to leave. The garden and the balcony both have amazing views of the lagoon which is only minutes away. We had our evening meal with fabulous Portuguese wine on the balcony of an evening it was so peaceful. It's a beautiful, well equipped, villa in a fabulous location. The location is perfect for families, we found a large supermarket really easily, restaurants which were all family friendly, the beach is just down the road and we even managed to go a bit further a field without much problem. The instructions to the villa from the airport were easy to follow, the main motorway from Lisbon is a good road and takes you most of the way there. We loved the villa and the location. We'd definitely recommend staying here and are hoping to be back again next year.

Everything you want or need for a villa holiday!

We just came back from the villa after a week with a group of 8 adults, 2 parents, sons and partners. This villa supplied us with amenities to both entertain and cater for us all throughout our stay. We really maximised the use of the pool, hot tub and pool table (family tournaments). The views are outstanding as the previous reviews state and to be honest so much so that we enjoyed the time at the villa more than going to the lovely non commercialised town. We did eat out at various places which were very reasonable for Portugal and had fantastic cocktails and drinks near the beach. This was a lovely relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of Portugal, very green and clean. A day out at Obidos is a must and we used a mini-bus company recommended by Chris and Marc throughout our stay including transfers which were very reasonable. I had to change our dates and Chris was very accommodating offering various solutions which enabled us to still have our holiday and we were so pleased with the outcome!! Thank you.

Unbeatable views from this lovely villa

We had a fantastic holiday at this villa in Foz do Arelho a few weeks ago. Without a doubt the views from the villa are outstanding, particularly from the front balcony and the pool area – it really is a beautiful spot and very peaceful. As all the previous reviews have said, the villa is very spacious, modern and well equipped – the guests are certainly well catered for – in fact we didn’t get to use all the gadgets provided (the sound system etc). There were 9 of us staying in the villa and there was plenty of space for all of us to be together, or for those who wanted a quiet spot, then that could also be found. We made full use of all parts of the villa, and in particular the pool, hot tub, bbq area and games room – they were all a big hit with our family. Plenty of pool toys were also provided which the younger (and older!) had a lot of fun with. There are shallow steps into the pool, but it would have been helpful to also have steps with handrails. We felt a car was essential for our holiday, the lagoon is indeed nearby but down a steep hill (how else would you get those wonderful views from the villa?!). There are also plenty of local restaurants to go to at which the food is excellent and to our surprise, much cheaper than we anticipated – a big bonus! There is plenty of information provided in the villa on the local area and its attractions, and we managed to have a perfect mix of relaxation and things to do outside of the villa. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa.

Beautiful house, fantastic location

We had a wonderful week at this beautiful house in Foz do Arelho.  The house is absolutely fantastic (the photos really don't do it justice!) with everything you could possibly need, and in a superb position overlooking the lagoon.  Foz do Arelho is a fantastic location - amazing beach and an unspoilt part of Portugal.  Highly recommended!

A delight worth recommending

How wrong I was to be worried there wouldn't be enough for young children (1yr, 4yr & 10yr) to do should the weather disappoint. When the pool or the hot tub weren't in use the games room was amazing; pool table, table tennis, Wii, Play Station, DVDs - you name it. There is no need to leave the villa, but the days we did my young children could be found catching crabs at the lagoon, rolling down sand dunes, pretending to be knights at Obidos Castle and all this just a short distance away. The locals were friendly, almost everyone spoke English. The owners had a useful booklet full of information about the local area and further afield. The villa was lush and comfortable. Everything provided was of high quality. There was a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and dryer - even some wine! The kids didn't want to leave - in fact we are planning our return with their cousins!

Fabulous!

We had a lovely time staying in the villa with friends and their 3 young children. Both the adults & kids thought it was amazing and loved the pool, going to the beach and of course the table tennis and wii. The villa is equipped to a high standard not only with the fun activities but also the essentials such as pots & pans etc. The beach at Foz is great, an ideal mix of wave jumping or swimming in the calmer lagoon. A bonus is it is close enough to walk to & from (even with kids aged 4-8). The seafood in Foz must be tried, it's delicious, the cocktails too! I would highly recommend this villa - the house itself and the location are excellent, it is better than the pictures suggest. We will be back!

Amazing stay

We have stayed at this Villa as a group of 9 friends and had an amazing time. It is hard to think of anything that you would want on a holiday that this place doesn't have: pool, hot tub, bbq, bikes, sound system throughout the house, games room with snooker, ping pong and a projector to watch TV or play games to name a few things that are at the villa. It's a bit like a fun playground for adults and it is clear that the owners have equipped theplace to ensure that all of the guest's needs are met. The location also should be noted which is not very well advertised on this site: the villa is situated right next to very beautiful beaches and Nazare which is the home to the biggest waves ever surfed is 30 minute cycle away. Obidos castle is also a short drive away and makes for a great place to visit in the area. I would highly recommend this place and am already planning a trip next year with my extended family. This was a great find.
