"Stayed with a colleague whilst working in the area.Dont be put off by the reviews.Rooms are a little dated but if your looking for a decent double bed , clean bathroom with powerful hot shower, smart tv , you can’t go far wrong staying here.I work up and down the country and have stayed in far worse hotels for a lot more money.Walking distance into town too."

"Friendly check in - had already been sent online registration form so very smooth. Room clean and nicely furnished and bathroom obviously recently fitted. Hadn't intended to eat in the restaurant but having ventured into Workington and been unable to find anything inviting, we were squeezed in even though it was a busy Friday evening. Glad we did as the food was very good. Only negative of the stay was the road noise but that was the compromise for getting a lovely mountain view."

"Staff were very polite, but the breakfast was average and a little greasy, but they were very attentive. The facilities were very dated and our window didn't shut properly and there was not another room for us to go to, not a massive issue in the end though as it was pretty quiet outside. Overall was a pleasant stay and would stay again, I would recommend maybe some uniforms and some modernising of the rooms though and maybe purchase something that cooks with less fat as well. "

"Unique property, great breakfast and service. Coffee machine on ground floor lounge room was very welcome as was the lovely cake or slice that was left for guests. We stayed on the top floor where there was a beautiful view. "
