What a beautiful place to stay. The room was luxurious with all kinds of special touches and staff were very warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
Lovely location and thoughtfully decorated rooms. Only regret was that I didn’t get the opportunity to eat at the restaurant in the evening while I was there. Hopefully next time. Would definitely recommend since it is in such a peaceful part of the country.
It was a lovely place but make sure you get check in codes and details before arriving.
I arrived on Tuesday night at 6.15 and the given contact number was not answered and the pub was closed so it was challenging to get into the room !
We checked in to find out that the breakfast we thought was included wasn’t & the lady who booked us in was quite abrupt. She did help us with a list of taxi numbers but felt the need to remind me we were in rural Cambridge which I already knew. Anyway we booked the breakfast & found the pub, restaurant & our rooms to be clean, picturesque & well equipped. We stayed Sunday night as we attended an event locally, to be woken before 7am by heavy traffic, mainly lorries passing the rural country lane, lots of them. Again we thought nothing of it until a huge lorry enter the car park which turned out to be the one to empty the sewer/septic tank from 7.50 until 8.30. As this was directly outside our room unfortunately not only was it extremely noisy but we could smell it too, not pleasant at all. I ended up cancelling breakfast & we left early. All in all, bad timing for us as the hotel is overall a lovely place in a lovely village.
Lovely village pub with onsite gastro-pub restaurant with indoor and outdoor covered seating. Food was excellent, the staff were absolutely brilliant, very attentive, and the room had a high standard of fittings and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious
Lovely picturesque historical pub with restaurant. We only stayed one night, our room was in a separate small block set back from the pub. It wasn’t the biggest room but was very stylishly decorated and had everything you could need including a freestanding air conditioner, tea, coffee maker and fresh milk. Lovely modern bathroom Would definitely stay again no hesitation.
Hard to find to start, didn't get an email stating it was an un manned site. No phone signal in room and Internet was very poor wouldn't connect on both connections. No iron in the room either would have thought a basic for a site un manned. other than that hotel was fine
Stayed here 3 years ago and loved it so much that we returned for a longer stay this time. Still a lovely hotel but the continental breakfast was very disappointing and not much on the table to offer. Appreciate the show held on the Friday, but booked a table in the restaurant for Saturday night and was not told until we arrived that we had no starters available and only 4 options for the main courses. Had we been told on the phone about this we would have gone elsewhere. Sorry, but just did not live up to the wonderful experience we had 3 years ago.

This stay was booked through Expedia. Our room was clearly advertised .. and still is .. including breakfast. The management refused to accept this and said breakfast was an additional charge of £14.95pp per night.
After spending an hour on the chat line with Expedia no resolution was forthcoming. This is just not acceptable.
The following day after meeting the manager in person we did receive a full apology and an offer of a free night if we chose not to leave as planned and give them the opportunity to demonstrate their normal hospitality. We accepted and stayed the full two nights and had the inclusive breakfast the following morning. It was well cooked and served hot but would not have been happy to have paid almost £30 for this extra. The price of the accommodation is at the high end for a room in an annex to the pub which isn’t open from Sunday to Wednesday.
Communication is very poor. Telephone number to the property is answered by recorded message which advises to go online. However there is no way to make a late booking online. Hence the need for Expedia reservation and the pitfall that then ensues.
Our advice is if you can’t book direct with the property and negotiate a fair inclusive rate then don’t book.
The room is at the back of the car park in an annex of 4 identical size rooms twin/double. Slight variation in decor. All adequate but on the small side with no bath but good shower. Clean and comfy bed.
Very comfortable, friendly staff and excellent food. Nice touches in the room with a mini fridge with fresh milk. Only slight complaint was that it was a little bit cool in the room. Heaters were supplied however.
A lovely remote Inn that has been beautifully renovated with such taste in every little detail. The staff were all very attentive and it was a real pleasure staying there.
Wunderschönes Zimmer über einem sehr schönen, alten Pub. Neu renoviert, sehr sauber. Kein Lärm vom Pub zu hören. Badezimmer sehr groß. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Abendessen außerordentlich gut, bitte unbedingt reservieren! Mehrfach ausgezeichnet!
Excellent B&B which is highly recommended for those travelling with or without a dog. Very clean and well styled. Only downside was that the restaurant was not open ( but I knew that before booking) This would have been the icing on the cake. Will definitely stay here again if passing through.
Lovely location, lovely, friendly, stylish, yet comfortable place to stay and eat. The grounds are by a small river with tables and chairs for relaxed dining. There is a great covered area too, or a stylish inside restaurant. The little touches in the rooms make for a wonderful overnight stay.
We enjoyed the stay only had a few issues over all. the room is great don't get me wrong but we were unable to control the heating. So it was really warm in the room throughout the night which meant we both could not sleep great. Besides that the bathroom needs a bit more finishing to make it as nice as the bedroom but simple things. The only other item I could moan about was the starter and deserts at dinner. I opted for the short beef rib. It was tiny £9. Really not worth the price and the deserts I would have to say have the same issue. Tiny for what they were. The food was good over all but both the starters and deserts could be a bit bigger for the prices paid
A home away from home.
Everything about my stay was amazing.
The attention to detail placed in everything was a breath of fresh air. I stayed with my dog as well and I found bowls, a blanket and a bed for her. Everything was exceptionally clean as well!! The breakfast granola I need to find as It was delicious. Highly, highly recommend!
