"Great experience overall. Hotel was conveniently close to Universal. Walk is about 10-15 minutes or take the free shuttle. Room was nice and clean. Would definitely stay again."

"Whiskey Hotel is a fairly hip-feeling facility: Dark blue walls, lots of eclectic ornamental touches, a wide range of "antique" paintings. It is a cashless hotel, so you cannot get change (for example, to tip the valet) at the front desk. Breakfast on the roof is very nice. It's basic, but well prepared and quite tasty. Eggs were perfect. Coffee, tea, water, orange juice....basically anything you might make at home was available. Nice touch to have it on the roof deck where you can soak in a little morning sun. The room was clean. Everything worked. The only downside is that the TV guide is very small, so if you have any vision limitations, plan to sit on the edge of the bed to read the guide. This normally wouldn't be an issue, except there appear to be at least a hundred channels, so a legible guide is important. My only complaint is $49 to park. That's not convenience, that's robbery."

"Property is nice in general. Paying $50/night is insane, but give how sketchy the area is around the hotel, I would NOT have been comfortable leaving our car parked on the street overnight. So I was more paying for peace of mind. The room was clean but the AC did NOT work. It was as low as it could go, 65, but just blew out room temp air. It was really hot during our visit so our room was super hot at night. The bathroom is tiny with very little counter space. There are ice machines on each floor, but no dedicated water fill stations. Rooms had a little fridge and microwave and they both worked. There is NO complimentary coffee, which was kinda frustrating. Only option was to hit the Bistro down in the basement and pay $4.40 for a 12oz drip coffee. The Bistro isn’t open in the afternoon or evening so if you want a beer or glass of wine you are out of luck. There are several elevators, but they are really slow, so we took the stairs a lot. Keep in mind you need your key card to go anywhere. Elevator and stairs both require key cards to get anywhere. Property itself is cool. This could be a really rad place. They need to bump up the amenities a bit, at least have a small area in the lobby that offers free coffee and that you can buy a beer in the evenings."
