"Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. There was a lot of debris on the ground, the kitchen area was really dirty and the room had rusty racks and shower curtains that allowed water to spray out all over the floor. Top Cantón Nandayure Hotel Reviews

Hotel Nantipa - A Tico Beach Experience

10/10 Excellent

"This was the best resort I’ve ever stayed at. I cannot wait to come back. I am already thinking about it. The location, the beach, the pool, the staff, the restaurant was absolutely amazing. I never experienced anything like it. The room was beautiful and spacious and very very clean. The housekeeping did an amazing job with keeping it clean during my stay. Once again, cannot wait to return!"

Esh Hotel and Spa, a Member of Design Hotels

10/10 Excellent

"We had a great week at Esh! The staff was very friendly and attentive. We loved the property and the pool. We made use of the sauna and cold plunge daily. We even saw monkeys while hanging out on the property. Yeh breakfast was delicious and plentiful keeping us full to start the day. Although the probably is a bit outside of town, the shuttle service is convenient to get to and from t e Esh to town."

Ocio Villas Mal Pais

10/10 Excellent

"Stayed in the Estrella room, it was beyond beautiful. Long scenic walk to the room, kitchenette, and filtered water in the full sized fridge. Staff was very kind and helpful, since the hotel was 6 hours from SJO we had to leave at 4 am and to our surprise there was a staff member there to assist with checkout. There are no key drop-boxes, so I was worried about how we were going to return it. Overall an amazing stay."

Hotel Tropico Latino

10/10 Excellent

"Always my go to place to stay if it’s available. Wonderful staff, food and location! I love that I can never leave the resort but still have an amazing time after it rained the entire time my previous visit. And even better to come back to after a day out playing in the area and relaxing on the beach for sunset while enjoying one of their many cocktails. It is also reassuring to see the same people working there year after year."

Nammbú Beachfront Bungalows

10/10 Excellent

"This is our Second time staying here. This time was an unexpected trip with no reservations made. Husband is handy capped and they were very professional and helpful in assistance of golf cart rides back and forth to car.
