"I hate leaving negative info but for the benefit of future travelers, I have to be honest about a few items with this property: 1. It was absolutely buzzing with flies inside. There was spray and a fly swatter inside which indicates this must be a known issue to the property manager. It made our short stay very uncomfortable. 2. This is not a hot tub, it is a swedish bath. "Friendly and helpful staff; clean well-appointed rooms. We arrived early and were given a choice of taking a warmer street facing-room immediately or waiting for a cooler courtyard-facing room. We took the street-facing. It was fine, although the air con wasn’t the strongest. Appreciated being given the choice."

"Exceptional across the board with one small caveat. Excellent location, spotlessly clean, reasonably priced, safe neighborhood, and very helpful staff. My room was small but exactly what I needed: a comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, plenty of hot water, and adequate air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and included in the price. I also loved the rooftop seating area for sunsets and people-watching. Other nice touches: washer/dryer (7 CHF), restaurant next door, small fitness room, 24-hour self-service coffee, elevators, and in-room safes. My only complaint was check-in. I arrived around 1:20 p.m. after roughly 16 hours of travel and was firmly told I could not have my room until the 3:00 p.m. check-in time. I waited in the lobby for about an hour before asking a different front desk employee, who immediately said, “Of course, your room is ready,” and checked me in. I completely understand guaranteeing rooms by 3:00 p.m., but if a room is already cleaned and available, allowing an exhausted traveler to check in early is simply good hospitality. That first interaction left me wondering what kind of experience I was in for. Thankfully, that concern disappeared quickly. Every staff member I dealt with afterward was outstanding, and the rest of my stay was excellent. I would happily stay here again."

"Super friendly and helpful staff upon arrival. It's a small hotel in reception, but the rooms are a good size. The airconditioning was great. Room and bathroom very clean. Our view wasn't good, but that didn't really matter. Location was fantastic - near to the train station. A wonderful stay and I'd definitely go back."

"Our favorite hotel on a three week vacation. Perfect location to see historic sites, shopping, restaurants, and strolling by the river. Easy access to building and room. Friendly staff and gathering room was fully stocked. Would stay here again and recommending to friends traveling to Bern!"

"First of all, the front desk staff are awesome. Super friendly and helpful. But then it starts to get worse. Daily room cleaning manages it to put 1 towel inside for 2 visitors, and manages it to replace 2 towels with 1. Previously, BernAqua was included, now you have to pay. Overall, every year the service is getting lower and lower. Max a 3-star hotel, no free gym available anymore. The quoted prices were over 250 CHF; for that price, I can definitely expect more. We moved for the second part of our stay in Bern to another hotel in the city."
