"We loved this place. It's in a big old farmhouse and doesn't look like much from the front, but it is a hidden gem. Mike runs the hotel so well & is really helpful; they should change the name to Mike's Place. It's really clean, comfortable & has everything you need. There's a big kitchen with almost every appliance you could want. It's really quirky and cool. 30min from Bern. But for my family who is not used to animals in the house, the dog and cat smell(which they have as pets as it is their home based b&b) was a bit irritating and my son and wife had sneezing due to it. "I had a terrible experience with Villa 12 Guesthouse. I traveled a long way from US to Swiss (Villa 12 is on the border between Swiss and France), and had to work on the arriving day, so I got at the Villa 12 Guesthouse around 8:30pm, that is very normal time for a hotel/Guesthouse check-in time. But to my surprise, the main Gate of the Villa 12 is tightly closed, and the guesthouse building looks dark, did not seem there were people living in it. "very nice hotel, beautiful view on the Alps, very reasonable. The restaurant is closed on wednesday, so it is wise to call ahead to make sure the door is open for you in case you arrive at odd hours. We have to share bath room and shower, but it is very clean."
