Cottages in Cantón Turrubares

"My husband and I stayed at Hotel Mango the evening of April 22 after having flown into the San Jose airport at a late hour. We chose the hotel because it is very close to the airport and car rental agencies. We took a taxi from the airport, arriving at around 10 pm. Given the late hour, the hotel restaurant was closed, but there are a few restaurants in the area within walking distance. We found the check-in efficient, the hotel to be clean and comfortable and our breakfast the next morning to be very good. Can you hear the planes? Yes. This did not bother us; the occasional times the sound was loud, we just waited until the sound subsided. This was while outside. Inside, we had been able to sleep soundly. We did not have time to take advantage of the pool, but the restaurant and pool area was beautifully landscaped. For what we consider an “airport” hotel, we found Hotel Mango to be reasonably priced and to have a “boho” feel to it. We’d stay there again."

"After reading the reviews I had my doubts about this resort. I must say this place was great. They had plenty of places to eat, multiple pools to cool off and enough Imperial (beer) for everyone. Staff was humble and really nice. Staff spoke english and spanish so communication wasnt a problem. They also have an area to rent cars or excursions so you can visit other areas close to Puntarenas. I have no complaints about this place besides the wait time to check in other than that I would bring family here on my next visit. Pura vida! "
