"We spent a week at the villa over Christmas with an extended family of 13 and it was spectacular. The villa itself is beautiful with plenty of bathrooms and comfortable beds. Juri and his family live close by and did a fantastic job attending to everything we needed. On Christmas night they made us a traditional Tuscan meal that was out of this world. "Great communication from Piergiorgio leading up to our arrival. Perfect directions and easy to find. "A very challenging drive up to the property with many narrow switchbacks not easily negotiated by a 9 seater van. The view from the top is worth the effort. The lands and gardens are very well maintained with great outside lighting for nighttime arrivals. The house is 1923 standard Italian with steep stairs and has its quirks. "A fabulous, family villa, spotlessly clean and great amenities. The garden is stunning, well manicured with beautiful views of the Tuscan hills. We had great fun in the pool, cleaned daily by the hosts. Plenty of sun loungers and great shady areas if you seek respite from the sun. Our hosts, Annibale and his lovely wife were incredible, providing a friendly welcome and accommodating all of our needs. On hand and most helpful at all times. We are so grateful for their kindness and support. A short walk into Marlia village where you can find a wonderful patisserie selling delicious breads, sandwiches, cakes, pastries and coffee. On the main street there are Pizzerias, bars, gelaterias , supermarket, pharmacy and many more. Service always friendly and helpful. A good bus service into the stunning walled city of Lucca for €1.50 and where you can take the train to other destinations. A superb holiday!"
