"The Retreat was the perfect place to stay in Windermere. It was stocked with everything I needed from an umbrella to salt, pepper and vegetable oil for cooking. The location was ideal. It was close to the train station and the Main Street. It was very quiet because it was on a little side street. I highly recommend it."

"Great quiet location and enjoyed watching the river flow by. Allocated parking. Apartment well equipped for self catering (need to take basics like milk, bread, tea, coffee, sugar etc with you). Property generally very clean but rug could do with some attention. Bed comfortable but felt a bit small. Sofa was the most uncomfortable we've ever sat on. Lovely deep bath but difficult to get in and out due to no grab rails and the shower was over the bath. "

"The location was excellent as very central for all shops, restaurants and the lake. The only issues we had were firstly it took a while to find our apartment as although we were given instructions for parking there were no details provided of how to access the flat and we later found out that we had to cut through a restaurant. Not ideal. Also we found the property very hot and although the bedrooms had ceiling fans the lounges area did not and could get uncomfortably hot at times. Could...

"Great place to stay right in the heart of town with beautiful views. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfy and the shower was great! We really enjoyed our stay! The host was great and check-in was a breeze."
