Wife's birthday trip.

We.have by this area a number of times on the way to our granddaughters in Weston not knowing what lay behind the trees.Decided to add a couple of nights on to our trip on the way back and found this delightful inn.was not disappointed,the rooms were perfect,with doors opening onto Patio & lovely lawned area.Breakfasts & evening meal were excellent & the attention of the owner & her staff was very appreciated.

If you like dogs……

Pleasant but draughty room. Could have done with draught excluder for door as wintery condition's blowing in. Mildew on nets slightly off putting. Breakfast quality very good. Evening meals good and hearty. Encountered some very narrow roads to get there. Plenty of car parking. Bit to doggy orientated for us non dog owners.

2 Night Break

The rooms were comfortable, the bathroom was modern. Plenty of parking. There is a lot of road noise from the main A road, located just behind the trees. Even though there is secondary glazing, you need to open the windows as the room got too warm. Lovely garden and it was nice to sit outside to eat. Dinner and breakfast was pleasant, hot and freshly prepared. Lovely staff

Strange Experience. We tried to cancel one night and add another night but the hotel refused because it would be in the hands of expedia to make such a decision. Expedia said it's in the hand of the hotel. We asked Expedia twice and they reconfirmed that the owner didn't want to show any flexibility. That was weird. When we were there, the owner was super nice and didn't mention this at all. Very strange. The rooms are ok, had a smell of color and you can't sleep with open window because there is a loud street in the backyard. The bathroom is super small. You can hardly sit on the toilet. On the other hand, the price is really good. So sure, I can't expect a luxury hotel for that price. Understood. Still: these high ratings were a bit unrealistic for my business travel partner and me.

Quaint pub/ hotel near Usk

This was a delightful gem of a hotel tucked away amongst the green fields just minutes from Usk. Our room was ver comfortable and cosy with lovely furnishings. Don’t be deterred by the motorway as the rooms and pub have double glazing so it is silent inside. Breakfast was cooked to order and included full English. We also had dinner which we enjoyed. The owner and staff were efficient and friendly. We hope to get back! We would certainly recommend it.

I work away all over the UK and this has to be one of the best places I’ve stayed in for a while. Accommodation is separate to the restaurant/bar and really quiet. Food and service was fantastic and the owner/manager was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast started at 7:30 which was great as some places this is later. Will be staying here again if I’m working in the area!

1 night stop travelling home from Wales

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the team of very friendly staff. The room was very good with a wet room which was great for my husband. Only sight issue was the television wasn’t working but we were advised of this at check in an engineer had been ordered but it certainly didn’t spoil our stay. Our meal was fantastic beautiful produce freshly cooked. The duck was so tender and my sea bass fillet was incredible. Sadly starter and mains so good we couldn’t manage a desert! Breakfast in the morning was equally good. We will be back!!
