"What a lovely hotel! Situated close to the beautiful town of Grasmere, and on the edge of the lake which was so picturesque you could sit and watch the view for hours - we did this whilst sipping a drink on the outside seating area. The spa was a perfect way to relax after a day of walking. We got the bus to walk the Fairfield Horseshoe but there are so many other walks to choose from (the bus stops are a fee meters away in either durection). In relation to the hotel it was clean, the rooms were lovely (we upgraded from the standard one) and the beds were comfy. The hotel staff were friendly and very attentive. There waa a great breakfasf choice and extra options were available to be cooked outside if the hot and cold buffet range. We had an evening meal which was also delicious. The only issue we had was I thought I had booked a 60 min spa treatment but in fact I hadn't. My fault but feel like the website could be updated and the email confirmation provide clearer timings i.e., the length of treatment and not just the start time as I would have realised my mistake. Appreciate this is a me problem, not them, so don't let this stop you from booking... I definitely recommend this hotel and will return myself sometime soon. "

"This hotel is of a top standard that many hotels could learn from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return. This hotel is the perfect half way stop between Aberdeen and the Midlands. Room was excellent. Service faultless. Restaurant and food top quality. Limited food choice but all top quality selection for all tastes. We loved this hotel.
