Heron Way, Ivegill - ideal romantic break amongst nature
If you're dreaming of a romantic escape with a touch of fairytale charm, Heron Way in Ivegill is the perfect place to make those dreams a reality. Lovingly handcrafted by the owners, this unique lodge blends beautifully into its enchanting woodland surroundings, creating a truly magical retreat for two.
Step outside onto the partially covered decking and reconnect with nature; and each other; as you listen to birdsong and the gentle flow of the River Ive, just 20 metres away. With an outdoor bath, swing seat, fire pit and cosy seating area, this tranquil space is made for slow mornings, starlit evenings and unforgettable moments together.
One of only three lodges tucked away within woodland on the owners' working dairy farm, Heron Way overlooks a natural pond and stream where herons, ducks, moorhens, frogs and newts thrive. Deer, squirrels, hares, badgers and foxes are often spotted wandering through the trees, making this a peaceful haven for wildlife lovers.
Inside, the romance continues with a bespoke handcrafted wooden bed, natural flooring and beautifully reclaimed and upcycled furniture and decor, all thoughtfully inspired by the surrounding landscape. Colourful furnishings add warmth and character, creating a cosy and intimate atmosphere.
Reached via a quarter-mile farm lane to a shared parking area, followed by a winding woodland path down into the valley, the lodge feels wonderfully secluded and immersed in nature. Yet within just 15 minutes you can explore the historic border city of Carlisle or the charming market town of Penrith, both offering excellent shops, restaurants, bars and attractions.
The lodge is accessed via a moderately steep woodland path from the shared car park, with two steps leading onto the decked walkway. Inside, the open-plan living space features comfortable seating beside large patio doors that bring the beauty of the outdoors inside. There's a charming upcycled dining table perfect for romantic meals for two, along with a Smart TV for cosy nights in.
The compact kitchenette is ideal for preparing light meals and includes a double gas hob, fridge and coffee machine. The bespoke king-size bed provides the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Cumbria, while the quirky walk-in shower room offers a stylish space to refresh and recharge.
Outside, the partially covered decking is designed for making memories together; soak in the outdoor bath beneath the trees, enjoy al fresco dining with a glass of wine as the sun sets, or gather around the fire pit on cooler evenings with logs provided.
Gas, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included.
