This was a good place to stay. It's an older hotel but well maintained. Beds were comfy and room was larger than a usual hotel room. We liked the hot breakfast bar (included) at their restaurant

Breakfast was great, staff was very helpful, and it was a good price. It’s very clean, and has a homey, motel vibe. It’s a good place to go if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower.

Much more than we expected for the rate. Love the historic nature of the place and the fact that it was renovated and preserved. Very clean, accommodating. Nice pool experience. Loved the roominess and the vaulted ceiling in the room - not experienced that before in a regular motel or hotel. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We enjoyed our stay here! It is very well kept with wonderful, helpful staff. It is in a great location. The rooms are spacious with a seating area as well as a mini fridge and microwave.

Rooms were spacious and clean with lots of lighting options and good AC. Bed was comfortable and big. Bathroom had double sinks and a large mirror. The restaurant on site was excellent, our dinner and dessert were great and good size portion. Well worth the money. All the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The ice machine by our room didn't work. The other one was far. They didn't give us new towels for the next day even though we paid full price the that night. I had to walk all the way to get them and only a couple of pool towels. The staff was very nice. The 2 female karaoke bartenders were rude. Nice comfy room

We loved this place. Rooms were pretty soundproof. Convenient parking outside our room. We appreciated the free breakfast. Staff were very helpful. There was laundry on site. $1.25 to wash your clothes and $1.50 coin operated to dry clothes. Bring quarters. No bill changer in laundry room. Pool was across the street. So we sat by pool while doing our laundry. They could really use some new loungers. Ripped up pretty bad. Rooms were clean and bed comfy. We would stay here again.

Staff is friendly and helpful. We didn't eat the breakfast so can't say about that. The whole complex is very unique in that it doesn't look like a chain motel. Our suite was very clean if a little shabby. It only had AC in the living room so without a fan I think the bedroom would have been a little hot. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was huge. We enjoyed having the extra space of the kitchenette. There were 2 motel phones in our suite and neither worked so we had to go to office if we had a question which wasn't a big deal. We could have just called on our personal phones, just kinda weird that they didn't work. There also were no working ice makers close to us so we had to go to the office for this also. The pool furniture fabric was pretty sun baked and ripped so you had to be careful sitting down. All in all we enjoyed our couple of nights there and if ever back in this area would stay again

Our room was very spacious with a huge bathroom. Somehow I believe we ended up in a handicapped room. Everything was in great condition and was very clean and orderly. Air conditioning was adequate, & staff were friendly and helpful. However, we did not care for the free breakfast or the coffee provided in the room. We also had issues with our television reception. After turning it on, and choosing a program from the guide, the tv would buffer for about 30 minutes before actually showing the program. Perhaps the problem was internet or cable related.

Having lived in Carlsbad for 50 years, and returning for a quick visit, it was disappointing to see the outside maintenance has gone down so far. The Stevens was always immaculate and a desirable place to stay and dine.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean and staff was helpful and pleasant. The hot breakfast was good enough for our needs. We parked right in front of our room. It is quiet and restful. We did not get to use the pool or the laundry site. We enjoyed the layout of the hotel and the palm trees were a nice touch. The room was narrow but well maintained. The small fridge works extremely well and will freeze things. The microwave was convenient. Bonus: A train comes by around 7 am! The ambience of New Mexico.

Yes this is an older property but the way they maintain the Landscaping and the pool and it has nice new windows it is worth it we so enjoyed our stay. We will stay there again!!!! Oh and we love the location of our room it was right off until the grass and we had two small dogs so it worked out perfect
