Great location, Cool Cottages

Great location! Just a 15 minute walk to downtown Carmel. Clean, quiet, calm little cottages. We throroughly enjoyed our two-day stay there. Would go again.

Charming Hotel

We planned a last minute trip to Carmel and stumbled upon this hotel. It's very reasonable and the cabins are clean and centrally located. You can walk to downtown and it's an easy drive to Monterey or Big Sur. We will be back.

Solid option, gets the job done

Not super fancy, but great location (walking distance from downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea), decently comfy bed, plenty of space. Bathroom and furnishings a tad dated, but worth the money.

Small cabins in Carmel, easy drive to Ocean ave and restaurants. I like the location, but the cabins need to be updated.. but I enjoyed my stay because it’s Carmel

Carmel Resort Inn-quaint artist cottages

Our room was large, contained fridge and microwave - nice convenience. The furniture and interior is minimal and could use some updating but very clean. The king bed was comfortable with plenty of bath linens. Very prompt and through support from the lodging staff. Great quiet location for walking into downtown Carmel and sound sleeping. We would stay at this location again.

Cute Campground Vibe

The room was very clean, had all the necessary amenities, and was close to my hiking destinations. Staff was very friendly. The only thing I would ask you to be aware of before booking is that families may be staying in the other cabins and the walls are a bit thin. You may hear others but it’s not disturbing.

Older property

This property will be razed to create more housing in this neighborhood. So maintenance is minimal as investments for improvements would be wasted, Staff was pleasant when we had plumbing issues. I imagine it was amazing in its heyday.

Super expensive for very ordinary smelly room

Staff very polite helpful checking in finding us extra fan on unusually hot day in Carmel. Returning to room on 2nd day, hit by bad odor. Checked around room; smell seemed to come from fridge; cleaned around and inside. Didn’t help. Looked behind the fridge. Found something resembling pizza-slice sized petri dish experiment (yellow/black/red) in catch tray; perhaps practice cleaning that out daily from now on; the globe only getting warmer!

Scrappy but clean

“Resort” is a bit of a misnomer because there is nothing luxurious or posh about this place — except that it is in Carmel. This place consists of one-room bungalows with a bathroom. Some bungalows seem to be detached. Others have shared walls—and they are fairly thin. There is no lovely landscaping. You park your car across from your bungalow, so at least you know your car is safe. There is an area with tables for dining alfresco, a fire pit, and a little shallow pool that seems to function as a water feature? This place is tad bizarre, but it is clean. Walking downtown takes about 17 minutes—downhill. If you plan to eat dinner in town and take an Uber, you might as well stay closer to town so you can just walk and save money on Uber trips. Did I feel safe here? Yes. Was is reasonably priced? Yes. Would I stay here again? No. This place was fine. Sometimes you just need someplace functional.

Great deal

We wanted to go to Carmel for a couple of nights with our dog. We tend more towards historic and or quirky. The listing looked great as did the very good rate. After booking I saw that there was a 40 pound max for pets. My Border Collie weighs 50 pounds, so I called and was told it wouldn’t be a problem. The listing said they were separate cottages, great. The lifting showed a photo of, what I thought was the office as it was a 2 story older building. The entire Inj complex is one story and not the full green the photo showed but a pale beige. The room was immaculate, the flat screen was huge compared to anyplace else I have stayed. It sits on a busy street that worried me a bit for noise at night. When it got dark the traffic evaporated. There was literally no traffic after dark. I walked our dog several times over 2 nights and never saw a car! We will definitely be goingback
