Excellent village pub with great staff and atmosphere that matches its surroundings and in keeping with good old inn values. The chef provides a great variety of flavors and quality dishes all served hot and on hot plates.
The stairs are somewhat challenging for the elderly and mobility impaired. I didn’t realize when booking that I could have requested a ground floor room. My bad - should have read the small print. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Excellent service. Very old building so there a few things that are as best as they can be but are not what you may expect. For example, the tub is higher than normal and would be problematic if you are older. Heat seemed to be missing except in the bathroom. Still, we would easily stay there again when we return.

We enoyed the doubly “smart” room — both the clean, modern decor and the motion-activated automatic lights for the main stairs (though they take time to come on) and the bathroom (shut the bathroom door when not in use so you don’t trigger those lights when you walk around in your room). This was my second stay. Friendly, helpful staff, good roast in the restaurant. We had a nice room which was an upgrade as the hotel wasn't very busy so that was a welcome surprise. I'm sure we will return as we enjoy Norfolk and this is a good base to explore further.
