Excellent village pub with great staff and atmosphere that matches its surroundings and in keeping with good old inn values. The chef provides a great variety of flavors and quality dishes all served hot and on hot plates. The stairs are somewhat challenging for the elderly and mobility impaired. I didn’t realize when booking that I could have requested a ground floor room. My bad - should have read the small print. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Sue and Clive have a well deserved good reputation. We wanted an immersive English countryside experience in a 400 year old Inn, and that is what we got. A delicious full English breakfast is included in the room price.

We enoyed the doubly “smart” room — both the clean, modern decor and the motion-activated automatic lights for the main stairs (though they take time to come on) and the bathroom (shut the bathroom door when not in use so you don’t trigger those lights when you walk around in your room). Also appreciated the towel warming rack, and the frosted bathroom windows. The room was very comfortable and quiet, as Grimston is a tiny village in a rural area. Fantastic stay. This is the second time there and each time the rooms are very clean. The restaurant has great food and pub on site. Staff are very friendly. Parking is super easy and close to the rooms. It’s a lovely place and I will definitely stay there again.

Amazing chef

Very quaint village hotel, dating from the 1600s. Updated nicely, but stairs are very steep. I loved my top floor room with dormer windows. Updated En-suite bath! Lovely original beam ceiling.

Excellent service. Very old building so there a few things that are as best as they can be but are not what you may expect. For example, the tub is higher than normal and would be problematic if you are older. Heat seemed to be missing except in the bathroom. Still, we would easily stay there again when we return.

We loved the executive room. The drive to Haustston beach is short and pleasant. We love the food, especially the fried oyster.

This property is absolutely unique, a 15th century building restored and updated in a charming way. The staff are all wonderfully friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom is luxurious! Thank you for the loveliest stay of our holiday.
