"Na chegada, tivemos logo o problema em contactar o anfitrião que a VRBO indicou. A pessoa com o nº indicado estava de férias, e portanto, não atendia, nem informava a sua substituta, que estava a ser contactada. 45 minutos à espera e tivemos a sorte de estarem à espera do Sr da manutenção. Depois do check-in, já no quarto, para além de alguma sujidade acumulada atrás dos móveis, tinhamos formigas em todo o lado, inclusivamente no sofá cama, onde iria dormir uma bebé de 6 meses com a mãe. "The basic rooms at the hotel are pretty rundown. If you want to enjoy your stay go for a family room with a €25 additional charge per night. The parking is €20 per night but unless you have an electric but unless you have an electric car, it’s a nightmare to park in there, especially you come with a large car. The breakfast choice is okay but not superb.They don’t have room service, you can call the restaurant and they may send you something, but it’s up to them. I hated the toilet paper because is the supercheap recycled type. I also hated the fact that you are given a beach towel every two days, it should be daily. I have to say that the hotel is more a three star hotel than a four."

"The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is like stepping back in time for the grandeur but it has all the modern amenities. The attached Beach club is also excellent. Beautiful setting, lovely loungers and if you fancy the food you won't be disappointed. Both the hotel and the beach club staff are excellent and so helpful. Don't forget to look for the hidden viewpoint in the hotel and enjoy the roof top terrace for the stunning sunsets"

"It’s very central to the restaurants and coffee bars - they are on the same town square. It’s a lovely old building but very modern and clean inside. On arrival the staff were very friendly and smiling and showed us around the property. The room was cleaned very well every day. The breakfast had a great selection, with freshly cooked food and was available from early til 10:30 Would definitely stay at this hotel if in Tavira again."

"The hotel is brilliant, it had everything we wanted. The outdoor pool was fabulous and clean with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas,. The hotel has an indoor pool, a gym, and other facilities such as sauna and spa. Overall, the hotel is clean and excellently presented, our room was spacious, we had a decent size balcony, the room cleaned daily if desired with fresh towels. Very happy with the room size and bathroom. The room had a TV and AC. We were greeted with very friendly staff daily, the breakfast buffet was amazing, the variety of food on offer was great. We would definitely recommend The Vila Gale Tavira Hotel and we stay there again. "

"Great location as near to beach and restaurants. All rooms have sea views and are clean with comfy beds. They gift you a free beach bag and hat for every room. Very nice touch. Hotel do provide shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and body wash. However the body wash is from a dispenser and did not get topped up when it became empty. Breakfast was all right, it is repetitive and only wish there was more hot food options."

"The hotel is really nicely done, the rooms with a kitchenette and living area are excellent for families! The pool and grounds are really lovely and calm. The restaurant and breakfast were very tasty! The beach is a bit of a walk but there is a buggy on request and is a big sandy beach. The hotel’s beach food is overpriced and not great. The kids club is great, takes kids over 4yo and is free."
