Couldn’t have asked for better!

Very nice BNB in the centre close to everything shops, bars and restaurants. For me and my girlfriend and son it was more than enough of a resting point in between our shopping and eating. Rooms where very clean had AC and the beds where more than comfy. If you looking for somewhere central to stay which is affordable, clean and peaceful this is definitely the place for you. Michele the host was also more than helpful and accommodating!

Thanks Michele for a comfortable and positive stay. The B&B is conveniently located in the city centre and within walking distance to the main area for bars, cafés, restaurants, shops and places of interest. My room was clean and spacious. Breakfast at the local café was adequate. Safe neighbourhood.

The room was nice and big and had everything we needed. So close to everything and the building itself is beautiful. Michele is super nice and friendly. The only thing is that is a bit noisy but apart from that we will come back next time we visit beautiful Catania x

Confortable et sympathique

Très bon accueil, chambre propre, confortable et bien équipée. Petit déjeuner = café-croissant dans un bar tout proche. Le B&B consiste en chambre dans l’appartement du propriétaire, qui est donc sur place. Situé dans un immeuble ancien qui a son charme et ses défauts (1er étage sans ascenseur). Il faut parquer dans la rue.

my Catania 2nd Visit just as good as first

Picone b and b was very pleasant stay. The host Michele was friendly and his cleaner. Got bearings quickly about location which was superb fantastically close to daily market. Bellini park and Via Etnea down to elephant and all sites fishmarket bus station to dline play as. Old plumbing I got used to noises from bathroom but Catania is old so i understand. So altogether good b and b very convenient for Alibus park Bellini stop and all Catania sights. GREAT choice of breakfast in or ticket for cafe up street. Very happy to recommend and communication and help good with google translates help. Would recommend. Only down side was 2 channels on tele not necessary for holiday tho. Cleaned daily and fridge to keep items cold was good. Rate 4.6/5 and great for price :-)

Bella esperienza quella di Catania e del b&b da Picone. Una volta sentito Michele, il titolare, per i primi accordi, tra cui parcheggio e suggerimenti utili, ci si è iniziati a sentire in vacanza, con quel sapore tra simpatia e gentilezza. Il b&b è in posizione strategica per poter comodamente visitare Catania a piedi, con interessanti attrattive anche a poca distanza, come i "giardini" Bellini, uno dei parchi della città, o il mercato di "fera o luni", con la sua infinità di gastronomie dell'isola. Qui la scelta è ampia, e di specialità culinarie tra locali, bar, chioschetti e caffetterie, non è difficile trovarne in zona. Ma Catania è anche il fascino della pietra lavica, scura e che dice tutto della sua vicinanza al vulcano, e la suggestione del susseguirsi di chiese, piazze e palazzi barocchi. Il tutto vicino ad un mare che sa di esserci, e a della gente, nella cui cultura è bello immergersi. A cominciare da via Umberto I, la via del b&b, a cominciare da Michele, con i suoi racconti e peculiarità. Consigliatissimo il bar Ficarra per ottime granite con e senza panna ma anche briosche e arancini. Tutto una delizia per il palato. E dopo neanche due giorni sembrava fossimo ormai di casa lì da chissà quanto tempo! Certamente torneremo e certamente ricontatteremo Michele per soggiornare da lui.

Quaint, generous intro to Sicily.....

This old but well kept property was like a much needed refuge after a very long travel day into a chaotic city we'd never traveled to. We rented a car at the airport and so arrived onto the hectic streets not really knowing what hit us. We passed the hotel a couple of times because was difficult to locate; we parked nearby and one of us had to find it on foot. I rang bell to large door with big sign and Michele was there to greet me. He jumped into the car with us and directed us to near by parking garage where we could leave the car. He spoke very little English and we spoke little Italian but we managed to communicate the necessities! He carried my bag all the way back to the hotel and showed us to our room. We had two balconies overlooking a bustling street. Room had everything we needed even if it was quite old. The bathroom here is Eco-friendly and so you have to put waste paper in bin NOT in the toilet. We've had to do that in other countries before so were used to it. Michele let us store our bags in his spare storage room the entire next day because we were hiking Mount Etna-he was SO very kind and really made our first experience in Sicily a great one.

La posizione del B&B è davvero eccellente ed anche l'accoglienza è stata buona. Però il bagno in camera è piuttosto piccolo ed anche il servizio di colazione andrebbe migliorato. Nel complesso la struttura merita un giudizio positivo ma non ritengo eccellente.

Good small b&b

Michel who runs the place very helpful and accommodating. Excellent location. Clean room. Breakfast a little limited but I don't think Sicilians eat large breakfasts. Also, throwing toilet paper in a basket and not down the toilet (see other reviews) a little strange but not uncommon in Sicily In general. I'd highly recommend Picone

ótima opção de b&b em cataniaom

A Sicilia foi o destino final - maravilhoso - de uma viagem de quase 1 mês pela Itália. Catania é uma excelente cidade base que permite deslocamentos super fáceis para siracusa, ragusa, taormina, além de claro excursões para o etna. O Picone é um b&b localizado num prédio secular, quarto amplo, pé direito alto, numa localização excelente em pleno centro histórico. Para quem gosta de caminhar é possível fazer quase tudo a pé, e à noite tem uma rua próxima repleta de restaurantes e bares bem charmosos. O proprietário do b&b, Michele, se encarrega pessoalmente de recepcionar os hóspedes, além de ser uma pessoa extremamente afável e solícita, reservou para nós excursão para o etna, chamou o táxi na nossa saída para o aeroporto, nos deu várias dicas para aproveitarmos a cidade. Super recomendo esse b&b, excelente custo-benefício em uma excelente localização com ótimo atendimento.

Antigua casa señorial con encanto.

Fue una estancia muy agradable. El dueño fue extraordinariamente simpático y con ganas de agradar. Esta situado en el centro de Catania pero muy tranquilo. En los alrededores existe de todo.

Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Wir hatten ein großes Zimmer, Frühstück hatten wir in einer Bar es war sehr lecker. Unser Vermieter war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ist auf Sonderwünsche eingegangen. Ist sogar am letzten Tag noch früh aufgestanden um sich zu verabschieden. Die Umgebung war toll. Wir hatten 5 Minuten zu einem schönen Park sowie zu einer schönen Einkaufsstraße. Bus zum Flughafen ist keine 10 Minuten entfernt. Es gab auch eine Bushaltestelle vor dem Hotel.

Wonderful staff and amazing location. Must eat at any of the restaurants in the side street a couple of blocks from the hotel. The rooms have great balcony views and a decor that feels authentic Silican!

Soggiorno piacevolissimo
