House with character, private swimming pool, near Carcassonne

"The house was clean and tidy on arrival and it had everything you could need. The pool and other outdoor spaces were fantastic. Christian and Jean-François were brilliant hosts as they were really friendly, helpful and easily contactable. They had lots of good recommendations for exploring the local area. The property had a lovely homey feel and we had a brilliant stay."

"We (6 adults) spent a very enjoyable two weeks at Villa des Rosiers. We were warmly welcomed by the owners who were very helpful and quickly answered any questions we had. The villa is clean, well equipped both indoors and out and we didn't feel that anything was missing. Some basic provisions such as tea, sugar, flour, oil, vinegar, were in the pantry area for use. We found the beds to be very comfortable. Plenty seating areas outside, both in the sun and the shade. Good pool which we made use of every day. We had hired the whole villa which includes a downstairs bedroom, one of us wanting to avoid the stairs. Unfortunately our stay coincided with a heatwave and sleeping downstairs at night was almost impossible as there is no air conditioning downstairs. A fan is provided but it was just not effective enough in 30C temperatures for us Scottish people! The three bedrooms upstairs were absolutely fine. The living room is also upstairs. There is an épicerie across the street for basic groceries - we used it mainly for fresh bread and croissants every morning. Carrefour is 5 minutes away by car. Plenty places to visit in the area without travelling far such as Minèrve, Caunes-Minervois and L'Oulibo (olive oil mill). Good food and good wine everywhere except La Terrasse in Minèrve (wouldn't recommend). A very good relaxed holiday in a Villa that we would return to and recommend to others. This would have been 5 stars if there had been better ventilation downstairs."

"A lovely house, easily accessible and so close to a shop with bread and pastries every morning. Really lovely house, the pool was extremely clean and very refreshing in the heat. Lovely stay and a lovely local couple as hosts! Thank you for your hospitality"

"Les Glycines was a really lovely house and we had a fabulous week long holiday. Check in was easy, Frédérique met us at the property and showed us everything, she had even made us some fresh ice cubes and left a bottle of local rosé in the fridge and a bottle of local red wine on the table for our our first evening! Each of the three generous bedrooms had a fan, very welcome in the heat! The parking was in the covered garage so very secure and shaded. The pool was lovely, very clean and a nice space to relax. The garden too was beautiful - lots of places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The kitchen was well equipped and a barbecue was provided too. Overall, an excellent house, we’d stay again and we’d recommend it to friends."
