"It is difficult to find a place with room enough for our large family to vacation together - Grandma and Grandpa, seven adult children, spouses, and grands - but the Big Lake House was absolutely perfect. Couples had their own bedrooms, cousins LOVED the large bunk room and loft, and we all appreciated the ample gathering spaces (kitchen, living room, upstairs den, outdoor living areas). We had several days of rain during our recent stay - no problem, as the house comes with plenty of games and "porch" activities to entertain and occupy the littles while the grown-ups supervised and visited. At the beachfront access, the cove is fairly shallow - perfect for children - and we made extensive use of the kayaks, paddles, and life vests provided. The pool, ping pong table, and fooseball were also big hits with the family, and nearby hiking trails provided challenging adventures for both the littles and the more athletic folks in our group. Our family are cooks - we prepared and ate all our meals at the house - so the large refrigerator, well-stocked dish cupboards, and institutional size pots and pans were put to good use over the week. Check in and check out were a breeze, and our hosts were in contact throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay special and enjoyable. Really can't say enough good about our stay at the Big Lake House - our time together there was such a blessing. Thank you for making this house available!"
