Quaint lodging with friendly owners. Enjoyed using the bikes on site to ride down to all of the restaurants and shops. Will definitely return and recommend.

A charming property with a beautiful water view. The eclectic decor is so well done. A truly wonderful place to relax and appreciate nature and the real quiet it offered. Our hosts, Ian and Darrin were so attentive and offered many extras right down to the morning coffee and purified water. Cedar Key offers many reasons to return and Firefly Cottages is one of them.

This property along with the owners was amazing! Every detail you can think of was in place! The water behind the property added such a relaxing experience to the jumping fish, pelicans and the skates that popped up! There was a little market across the street that sold produce along with the best stone crab we have ever had and the cheapest in town! There was fresh mineral water on site at all times and coffee delivered to you door every morning which was such a joy! We would definately stay again and we thank the owners for a wonderful experience!

Great weekend escape

This place is amazing!! The hosts are fabulous and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a great one. Free coffee freshly ground and delivered daily for you to brew. Free water and ice that is treated and made on property. It is a quiet place with water views. The old fishing huts are tastefully decorated with A/C and fans. Bed was comfortable and kitchen was fully stocked with the essentials. I would and plan to visit again. Cedar Key is laid back with a slower pace so don’t get in a hurry while there and enjoy it!!! Thank you both for making our stay an Awesome one!!!

Everything was outstanding! Ian and Darrin were very friendly and helpful and the cottages were amazing! The outside and landscaping is well maintained and welcoming and the inside of the cottage was very modern with everything needed yet still comfortable and laid back like you were staying in a Florida Key. Outstanding little place to stay!

We loved everything about this place! It has an old-fashioned charm, and the hosts are excellent. They’ve thought of everything anyone might need for an enjoyable getaway, and it seems they’re always available to welcome and help their guests. After dark, there’s an atmosphere that’s almost magical. We came to relax and unwind, and this is the perfect place!

Cedar Key is my favorite place to be in all of Florida. And now, thanks to Darrin and Ian, my favorite place to stay while there, is Firefly Cottages. They have turned an old fishing camp into a wonderful relaxing retreat! I was lucky enough to stay in Paradise Cottage, which was to me the most magnificent, with its front view of the courtyard and its lush landscape and the back view of the enchanting marsh. Where I watched the sunrise in the morning and dolphin chasing fish in the late afternoons. The cottage was filled with every amenity, including the most luxurious bedding and all of the creature comforts of home! The a/c was most welcomed after a day of walking one of the many nature trails that Cedar Key has to offer. I have many favorites about Firefly, but one of the most special is the freshly ground coffee beans that await you every morning for some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Ian and Darrin, owners and hosts, are welcoming and friendly and at the ready to accommodate your every need. I can’t wait to go back!!

What a great experience we had. The charm of these cottages was only exceeded by the cleanliness inside. Much attention is given by the owners living on premises. Darren and Ian make each visitor feel like long lost friends. They have succeeded in making a very special slice of paradise. It’s a perfect getaway off the beaten path to step back into old Florida’s charm.

Water went hot and cold when tou took a shower. Could see daylight through floor boards and the so called a/c was a window unit that didn't work too well and was noisy. We will not visit again. The price was way too costly.
