I loved how authentic the experience felt and looked, curated by such amazing and sweet souls.

We were so impressed by the kindness and flexibility during our stay. They accommodated an early check-in, had all of our luggage from our previous hotel waiting in our room, and even included thoughtful touches (handwritten welcome note). The hospitality was exceptional and made this one of our favorite travel experiences. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Location is by the Kamo river delta. Lots of fine restaurants around which the concierge booked for us on short notice. Michelin one and two star dinners. Well done. Suite was amazingly quiet, top floor with superb views. Staff was consistently there for us and granted every wish. Full kitchen, microwave and washer dryer. Hopsitality staff took care of everything. Thank you very much.

This place was absolutely gorgeous and clean. The included breakfast was delicious, healthy, and so complete. This is one of the best hotels where we have stayed in our travels through different countries for sure. Highly recommended. A few steps from the train station so its location is super convenient. Highly recommended. So beautiful. 5 stars - no question.

Everything is perfect for family trip.

The staff at the Junei Hotel was amazing. They were attentive and helpful in every way. We loved how clean the room was, and the soaking tub was wonderful at the end of the day. The hotel is in a quiet, more residential part of the town, and we did travel by taxi quite frequently.

We stayed in Room number one. It was incredible. It was such a wonderful experience to stay in a historic building that had modern amenities and a lot of space. The room decorations and sliding doors were beautiful. The living room overlooks the garden. Everything was clean. It was nice to have the communal food area to grab coffee in the morning and a light meal. Be aware that the room entrance for the room is right next to the lobby. The service here is absolutely impeccable. I wasn't sure when booking this hotel if it would meet expectations and there was only sketches for pictures on the site, but it actually exceeded them! It was so quiet there also and in a fabulous location, close to the Castle, train station and numerous other transportation options, great food. The gardens were lovely. At night as it was so quiet, you could hear the several waterfalls and drift off to sleep. It's also in a very pretty part of town....

The owner Tomi is extremely attentive and will provide you with a multitude of services within and around the guest house. The traditional Japanese rooms are located on the second floor up a VERY STEEP set of stairs, keep that in mind for luggage and beverages. The onsen around the corner is super nice and you’re nearby to both JR station and local subways. The hostel is in a quiet neighborhood, the atmosphere inside the hostel feels relaxing and is in good condition. What makes this hostel special is the host, he made the stay in this hostel an absolute pleasure! If I would return to Kyoto I would go out of my way to stay at this hostel again.

The person that checked us in at the check in counter was amazing

I first I was nervous to go to a place where I didn't even have anyone who could tell me anything about it. Once I got there and the person doing the check in was Super friendly, patient, and helpful even with the things he didn't know cause he is from Osaka, as he mentioned when I asked about places in the area.
