Tal Palace and Towers, my favourite place to stay in Mumbai - the heritage wing is particularly beautiful. The lights on the first floor are from Sea Lounge, an excellent tea place overlooking the Gateway of India and the ocean.

"Staff on reception were fantastic. Breakfast service and food was a little disappointing. However evening restaurant service and staff were great. Noisy will be true of any hotel of this style in Mumbai. I stayed during rainy season. So much plastic and tarpaulin around that it was quite dramatic when the heavy rain fell. Very good area to stay. I would recommend. Spa treatments are als top notch. "
