"This resort was great. It's clean, staff are friendly and amazingly with the amount of people there they would remember you. There wasn't a lot of vegan options for my girlfriend but the staff went above and beyond to try and accommodate her diet needs when needed."

"The house was huge and the property was right on the beach! Mauricio was very helpful for anything we needed. There was also dogs and a cat on the property (outside) which we loved too. The property was well secured and the house also has an alarm system but didn’t have to worry about it at all. Overall was an amazing experience and can’t wait to come back!"

"We enjoyed staying at Casa Mango. True to it's name, there are mangos hanging off the big tree ready to eat or as we did, make mango margaritas! Josh is an excellent host and his girlfriend, Mariela, is an great cook. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast (gallo pinto/eggs), fab dinner (Arroz con Pollo) and the best pina coladas ever! The river/estuary views are every changing with the tides. Overall, it's a hidden paradise in a typical Costa Rican neighborhood."

"What a wonderful stay! Casa Rector was an excellent choice for our family, my brother's family and my parents. The property was well stocked with everything we needed, including life jackets for our kids. Mirabel and Arturo, the on site caretakers are INCREDIBLE! We hired Mirabel to look after the cleaning and some cooking and it was worth every penny to enjoy our stay. Mirabel is a wonderful cook and always proactively anticipating our needs (towels, ice cream for the kids, etc) Arturo did a wonderful job looking after the pool was always there to help with the gate when we were coming/going with the car. The property was clean and well maintained despite some signs of age, but anything we needed was attended to right away. The pool was excellent. The shallow end is still approx 4 feet deep, so we just had to be extra cautious with the younger kids in our group. We loved going down to the beach to jump around the waves and watch sunsets. Thank you Richard for sharing your beautiful property with us. We had a wonderful stay!"

"There is a lot to say about this property. The manager that originally messaged me from vacasa actually never helped us at all. We arrived to a lovely couple and their teenage daughter who live on property as care takers. They were the highlight of our trip. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating throughout our stay. The house itself has a lovely outdoor area with plenty of space for our kids to run around. You can actually walk out onto the beach from the yard but be warned it’s filled with trash. The inside was fine. We didn’t have hot water in some bathrooms and the roof leaked in the poorly equipped kitchen. The actual neighborhood around the house is sketchy and dirty. There are not any good restaurants in the area and all the tours we were taken on by our self-appointed tour guide were over priced and average at best. The beach we went to for surfing was also cluttered with trash and we were warned by a local that our stuff would be stolen if we left it while surfing. Be warned to ask about all the prices ahead of time as everyone was adding on extras for our group. We love Costa Rica but we won’t be back to Puntarenas. It is not the charming pura vida vibe you want while visiting this amazing country."

"The place was clean . Very modest . Lots of notes everywhere on walls from the owner . People in area were kind to us but be aware it is a very rough area- notice there are no pics of the area out front of the apartment , that’s prob for good reason, would scare most people away . Hence the barred front to get into the apartment. VRBO ad lists washer AND dryer as amenities . The dryer is a clothesline . If you read the small write up on the place within VRBO it only then says washer and clothesline. Personally I didn’t like Puntarenas and would not go back ."
