"They didn't tell me they had somebody living on site until I was on my way there, between midnight and 2:30 a.m., because I told them I would be late, getting there. There was somebody else there when I got there in the room that I was supposed to be in, plus the person that lives on site. The key was where it was supposed to be, but the outside door was locked, and I rang the doorbell several times, and contacted the host, by calling and sending messages, and I still had to wait about 20 minutes...

Baymont by Wyndham Elizabeth City

10/10 Excellent

"The staff was really helpful all the time they make your stay pleasant. The rooms are clean. Air conditioner works fine. I stay there a lot for work."

Private Waterfront Retreat: Escape the Crowds. Reconnect with Nature - Grandy

10/10 Excellent

"I was in Grandy doing a project for Currituck County and didn't want the inconvenience of 60 miles a day to and from hotels, so I looked for a VROB and to my amazement I found the Currituck Cottage and wow what a place to have peaceful and beautiful sunrises and sunsets with views of the sound and wildlife it was fantastic. The inside was even more spacious and beautiful than most we go to , the kitchen has all the needs for a gourmet meal at home. Robert was so easy to communicate with and just a great time when not at work cant wait to return."

Beautiful Waterfront Vacation Rental on the Currituck Sound

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at this hidden gem on Bells Island was nothing short of magical. Tucked away right on the shores of the Currituck Sound, this VRBO provided the ultimate peaceful coastal escape. If you are looking to trade crowded beaches for undisturbed tranquility, this is the perfect destination. The highlight of the home was undoubtedly its expansive back deck and private dock. We spent our mornings sipping coffee as the mist lifted off the calm water, and our evenings captivated by spectacular, unobstructed sunset views that painted the sky in brilliant hues of orange and pink. The Sound's shallow, gentle waters made it incredibly easy to launch kayaks and paddleboards right from the property, offering hours of effortless outdoor fun.Crabbing from the dock with 2- provided crab traps and 5 collapsible crab traps I purchased provided us with approximately 12 blue claw crabs per day. What crab boils we had!Inside, the house was immaculate, spacious, and thoughtfully designed to maximize the stunning waterfront backdrop. Large windows flooded the living space with natural light, ensuring we never missed a view. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking family meals, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable after long days spent out in the sun. While the property felt wonderfully secluded and quiet, it was comforting to know that local seafood spots, grocery stores and the outer banks (OBX) were just a short drive away. We truly received the best of both worlds"

Beach Cottage, in Grandy, on the Currituck Sound in Outer Banks Mainland

10/10 Excellent

"We had a great stay at the Grandy cottage. It was our first trip to OBX. We did ALOT in the 5 days/nights. I think we were lucky that is was "off season" because we didnt get stuck in too mich traffic, but it was a bit of a drive to anywhere we actually wanted to check out. This is no fault of the owner of the property, and we knew that well ahead and when booking! However it is something to be aware of when booking, depending where you might want to visit. We drove 1hr away almost every day. We got to visit Duck, Corolla, Wright Brothers, and Romanthe area. So much fun! The neighborhood itself was meh. I did not expect the cottage to be right next to two dumpy trailers. Granted they did not seem occupied, but they do sort of take away from the vibe of the other nicer houses/cottages right there. It felt safe enough and it wasnt a problem or anything. It just kind of took away from the overall feeling if the neighborhood and area. When you are paying premium prices similar to Duck prices right on the beach....not sure you would expect that. I hadn't seen that mentioned on any of the other reviews...I loved paddleboarding on the sound in the mornings, before my kids woke up. The neighborhood heron loves the small kyak dock area by the cottage and we had frequent sightings of it. The sunrise/sunsets were pretty. The cottage itself was very clean and very well detailed/themed. We didnt cook at all, but it seemed to have all the things. All in all, 5 starts from us! Thanks"

Knot Two- Balcony View of ICW- Dog Friendly

10/10 Excellent

"Beautiful stay in Coinjock! This was a very cute little place to stay next to the water. The property was as advertised in the listing and the neighborhood was very quiet with a nice restaurant close by. Check in and check out instructions were clear and the host was excellent at communicating with me. Would definitely stay here again!"

The Natchez II - The Waterfront House on the Sound on Bells Island

10/10 Excellent

"My sister's and I had our sister's getaway weekend here and absolutely loved this property! The house was just perfect with a room for each of us and the views from right on the water were stunning- beautiful sunsets! Great communication from Kenneth, the host as well! We are already talking about staying here again next year."

Boat & Fish: Waterfront Gem on Pasquotank River!

8/10 Good

"This really is the best spot to enjoy all of Elizabeth City and the area. The views of the river and condo layout make staying at home very relaxing. Location also affords easy access to downtown and route to the beach. We would choose to stay there again on next trip to the area."
