"Overall a good experience. The bed was comfortable, good lighting in the bathroom, water got hot quickly, staff were helpful, complimentary parking and coffee/bagels in lobby were convenient. The patio overlooking the ocean was very nice. Areas of improvement: towels were thin, several cracked/broken tiles in bathrooom, vinyl flooring instead of carpet, better lighting at coffee maker/refriderator. The toilet seems to have been made for a child, as it was very low to the floor. There was a used towel on the hook of the bathroom door that should have been removed when housekeeping cleaned after prior guest. Price was high for the room, however I suppose that being a tourist location and right on the ocean all similar properties are priced the same."

"Cece at the front desk was amazing! She was kind and addressed my concerns right away. We arrived at 6:30 PM 10/5/26 and had made dinner reservations for 7:30 at The Surf. When we came downstairs for dinner. Nobody was at the stand to show us to a table. There was noise in the kitchen. I tried to get their attention. Finally someone came out and told me the kitchen was closed. He did give us the name of a place we could walk to. We were very disappointed. When I told Cece about it she took care of us and told me she was very sorry and would report the incident to the proper parties. The trim around our sink in 121 is separating and looks bad. Directions for the split for heat would be helpful. We finally figured it out this morning, right before checkout."

"We adored the 1661 Inn with its quiet charm, amazing location and warm staff. Champagne brunch every morning was so delicious. Wine and nibbles for happy hour every day overlooking the water is divine!We will be coming back!"

"We had a wonderful two night stay at Hotel Maria. The front desk staff was helpful and even opened the door for us when we were coming and going on our first night. The view was great, the room very clean, the drinks and treats were a great touch. I highly recommend this gem!"

"I knew it wasn’t the Plaza when I booked a room, and it gave me everything I hoped for — a quiet, spacious room, good AC, a cheerful welcome, and lots of flexibility regarding early check in and late check out. If you need a clean, safe, welcoming place to stay in the area, this is a safe bet."

"I truly enjoyed being so close to the ocean shore; I could hear the waves crashing at night (especially if it was windy). The bathroom had been modernized and I appreciated the light-up mirror over the sink. There had been a severe storm threat that weekend, so the management arranged for extra sand to be dumped to prevent flooding. There was no bar present due to the storm, and most eating establishments had closed, so it was very quiet with few people around. I recommend more lighting for the balconies and stairs; it was a bit dark for me. (Perhaps there is brighter lighting in-season; as a senior citizen, I need more light.) For my needs this trip, it was very satisfactory. Those who do not require a lot of fru-fru or extra amenities, but like a strong beach vibe, would love it here!"
