Hometract Cottage, Historic Property, UVA/Charlottesville/Ivy

Hometract Cottage is a historic one bedroom home (NRHP, circa 1800) centrally located 15 minutes or less from downtown Charlottesville, UVA, Crozet, Monticello, wineries and more. The cottage features king size bed, ensuite bath, fully stocked kitchen, living/workspace with comfortable sleeper sofa, mature landscaping for privacy, and covered front porch. Hometract is a quiet 3-acre property with terraced garden views. Visit our chicken coop, relax in the hammock, or walk to the garden shop or Duner's restaurant.

Hometract is located in historic Ivy, a rural area characterized by mature forests and rolling hills. We have the privacy of a rural area with few neighbors but also easy access to I-64 & Rt. 250 putting Crozet, Ivy, Charlottesville, Monticello, Keswick, and more all within easy reach. We are walkable to the Ivy Corner Garden and Gift Shop, local favorite Duner's Restaurant, and the Wine & Country gift shop. Boars Head Resort is only 5 minutes down the road with its golf course, restaurants, spa, and music and events. The Foxfield Races are only 10 minutes away.

Road cyclists can enjoy the popular Dick Woods Taylor Gap route passing right past Hometract's entrance.

Enjoy the best spirits that Charlottesville has to offer with Ragged Branch Distillery a few minutes away, and Potters Craft Cider, Starr Brewery, and more than a dozen wineries all within 15 minutes.

The cottage was absolutely adorable, and the grounds are a country sanctuary. The location is centrally situated with easy access to Charlottesville, Monticello, and Crozet, as well as major highways. The owners are especially friendly and helpful.

Adorable little getaway

Absolutely could not have enjoyed our stay more! Super clean snd very cute for a quick over night stay with friends. Close to Charlottesville but tucked away in privacy. Would love to stay again

Wonderful Stay!!

This charming cottage was absolutely perfect for a short stay away!!! Wish we could have stayed longer!!! We loved the history of the property. It had all the comforts of home and we felt relaxed as soon as we walked in!! Definitely would stay here again!

Wonderful Stay

This cottage was a wonderful place to stay for a long weekend in Charlottesville. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for us. A short drive to either Crozet or Charlottesville. Juli is a great host.

Great place to stay

Juli's cottage was a great place to stay. Clean. Built in 1800. Living room and bedroom were nice. Can easily drive to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline drive. I would definitely recoomend it for a short stay.

Quaint, cozy cottage in peaceful surroundings. Cottage was well equipped with anything you would need during your stay, especially loved the coffee. Great location, short drive to many attractions, restaurants, and wineries. The hosts were very communicative, informative, and gracious. Be sure to visit the hens! Would definitely come back!

Parents' weekend visit

This was the perfect place to stay for parents' weekend. It was a short drive to UVA campus. The beautiful living room and cozy kitchen enabled us to relax and visit in a comfortable environment. We loved the quiet, country setting and particularly enjoyed the view of the Milky Way at night and visiting with the hens during the day.

Cozy Cottage

I love history so this fit the bill as it is on the national history registry and has amazing charm and comfort. It was on the fringes of Charlottesville, which was perfect! My daughter and I will be back .

Very peaceful and quiet property. The location is easy to find and close to Charlottesville. It’s about 15-20 minutes so a place to end a busy day restfully. The property is well maintained and self check-in easy.

Idyllic retreat

Cozy, charming, serene setting —15 minutes from Charlottesville but a world away. Nicely furnished with a well equipped kitchen in a cottage on the National Register of Historic places, c. 1800. The hosts were welcoming and communicative. I couldn’t have asked for more!

Quick Getaway

We had a wonderful stay! We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather to sit outside and enjoy the lovely outdoor space (and meeting the flock!). The cottage itself was so cute and comfortable, with such a fun decorative vibe. Quick responses for any questions we had. Definitely recommend!

An Absolute Idyll

This is an overall lovely, serene, comfortable and yet practical. The cottage is very well-appointed and well-equipped. It was exactly the respite I needed.Juli, the host, was out of town, yet still communicated with me about my potential needs. I couldn't have asked for a better place or a better host.All that in a place that's only about a ten-minute drive west of town. i cannot recommend Home Tract highly enough.

Loved this cottage

We were charmed by this cottage. It had everything we needed for four nights as we explored the region. Hosts were attentive and welcoming while giving us privacy. We wished we had booked for a week! Very comfortable, nice linens and towels, kitchen fully equipped. So nice to have coffee fixings supplied. Not much in walking distance but plenty of places to explore nearby.

Adorable cottage!

This was such a cute property! It's something just a little different from everything else and just what we were looking for. It is nicely decorated and it was also nice to have coffee supplies provided. (Thank you!) I loved that the pathway lights popped on when you approach them....which was also very helpful when we arrived after dark. The train went by a couple of times, but didn't bother us. I thought it was kind of neat. We were very close to quite a few wineries that were on our list to visit and we were able to go hiking nearby in Crozet. It was just a short trip into Charlottesville, which we took advantage of as well to check out some antique shops. Wish we could have stayed longer! ...and wish i could have visited the chickens more than once!
