"As this was a relevantly new establishment we weren't sure what to expect, but we had a fabulous stay. Everything was high class, from the coffee bags - not instant, to the shower/shampoo/conditioner. Towels that actually covered me, to posh 'who gives a crap' toilet paper!!We came home one afternoon to find a small punnet of strawberries in our room! "Nice clean room and very comfy bed. Had a skylight rather than a window so no view but great black-out blind. Shame about the miniature sink though, bad design! Nice to have a continental brekkie included. Very convenient for the station and town. Do try Coulls fish'n'chips, delicious, thanks for recommendation."

"I’ve stayed in the single room and it had all I needed for my short stay. I spent most of my time exploring the nearby villages/sites, so all I wanted was a safe accommodation nearby the main sites I wanted to visit (Seahouses, Bamburgh and Lindisfarne) with free parking, reasonably priced and a quiet atmosphere. Vanessa’s place ticked all the boxes for me. Perhaps not the place for you if you wish to spend more time at the property as you do not have a lot of extra space in the room and no cooking facilities or if you do not have a car as I do not know if public transport is frequent in the area."

"Lovely hotel, perfectly situated next to the harbour. Although our room was a bit small and looked out to a small yard where the laundry was kept, it was clean and modern. We didn’t try the restaurant but the bar was good and there was outdoor seating to enjoy the views out to sea. The only downside would be the prices but it was school holidays and in a prime location. Also, the car park was very small necessitating in a big cost to pay for parking in a local public car park."
