The bothy is a detached 2 bedroomed property on the outskirts of Beadnell village. The cosy lounge leads out onto a covered patio area with rocking chair seat where you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst soaking in the sunsets. There is a large double bedroom and a twin bedded room. The family bathroom has a walk in shower and separate bath.

This was our 3 stay at the Bothy. We had all the properties for a family party, As we have learnt to expect everything was wonderful clean & comforable. The accommodation is great for a couple or with children. The owners are amazing & great to deal with from booking to arrival & departure. Thank once again. Have already booked for next year.

Lovely 2 bedroomed cottage with views out over the fields of sheep. Great for a week with our 2 Collies. Safe enclosed spacious garden with a covered shelter where we could clean them off before going into cottage. Great place to light a fire pit & watch the sunset after a busy day, even in October! Cottage was small but welcoming, with very comfy bed, would stay here again.

An excellent weekend at the Bothy convenient for Beadnell Beach and Newton Hall for a family wedding. Accommodation was warm and comfortable and had everything in it for us to have an enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend staying here to enjoy the Northumberland coast and countryside.

The Bothy is simply wonderful. The garden and its views are amazing and we could have just sat in the garden all day and evening and just admired the beautiful views. The property itself is brilliantly equipped. The beds are so comfortable and the living room is really cosy and homely. Highly, highly recommended!

This was the first of hopefully many stays at Mains Cottages. The welcome provided on site was lovely and we were blown away by the cottage - the kitchen is small but functional - however the rest of the cottage was perfect for our needs. No corners have been cut, this is a real home from home. If you’re thinking of going to Beadnell, this is the place to stay .

We had a lovely time in Northumberland and The Bothy was a great base from which to explore. It's small but perfectly formed! The beds are super comfy, kitchen well equipped and lounge/dining room just right. Shower stall is very snug (for us larger ladies) but manageable for a week. One thing to be aware of; although the garden is completely enclosed, anything larger than a Chihuahua could easily hop over the stone wall into the garden next door!

We had a wonderful stay in the Bothy, great location for local beaches and walks and lots of nice place to eat. Very cosy cottage, warm, welcoming and dog friendly with a lovely gift pack awaiting us. Everything you need and more, very well equipped and so peaceful. Due to a family bereavement we had to leave a day early but Sam was so helpful and we were supplied with wood for the fire pit at short notice for New Year’s Eve. Would thoroughly recommend and we would love to come back .

We were delighted to find the cottage provided all we needed and was comfortable and homely. The view from the back was relaxing and cottage a good position for the coast and any needs. We enjoyed meeting friendly Sam and her husband and found them friendly and accessible by phone for any concerns. This makes such a difference to have personal connection . We enjoyed the provisions they left Eg cake etc - I used the ironing board for a function so thanks for supplying that. We love northumberland and this area and we’ll be back I am sure!

What an amazing place to relax and recharge the batteries. Spent a lot of time in the swing chair on the patio watching the cows and sheep - never knew before how relaxing that could be! The village is a short walk away and we enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Craster Arms and also breakfast at The Landing on another day. There is a village shop but it’s quite pricey so bring your own supplies or there’s a Co-op in Seahouses (next village along). . The Bothy was very comfortable, beds so comfy, fab shower, a chest full of games, the kitchen was very well equipped and we loved the cake, fizz and dog treats too. Lovely added touch leaving pumpkins for the children to carve as well as a few Halloween themed games. We will definitely be back - thank you x

Had an enjoyable stay at the Bothy - good location for exploring Northumbria. Kitchen was well equipped and the welcome pack was fab! Lots of thoughtful touches for the doggies too. Only thing that let it down was the cleanliness. There were cobwebs and thick layers of dust in places - needs a good deep clean. Some of the bathroom looks a bit tired and the shower doesn’t drain very well so backs up. The outdoor space looked great, unfortunately we couldn’t make much use of it as the weather was rubbish, but inside had a nice cosy feel to warm up and dry off. Could do with some more board games and a bigger TV for the wet days (had to get the binoculars out to see the TV ). Overall positive feedback with a couple of suggestions for improvement.

This is our 4th stay at The Bothy, and we had a lovely relaxing time. As we stayed over New Year we even got a free firework display from the harbour at Seahouses without leaving The Bothy! There’s everything you need provided and the owners are very helpful if you need them for any reason. The views from the garden are amazing and we saw some lovely sunrises too. It’s very peaceful. It’s also central to a lot of fantastic places, Beadnell, Cragside, Northumberlandia, we avoid the busier places as we have a reactive lurcher. And we found The Bothy an ideal place to stay with him. I’d definitely recommend.

Myself, my husband and our cavapoo, Betty, spent four fabulous nights at The Bothy. We arrived in the dark and were greeted with a bottle of wine, nibbles and a huge chocolate cake - such a special welcome. The Bothy was warm and cosy and the double bed was the most comfortable and warm we have ever slept in - better than our own bed at home! We had some great days out at Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell and Newton and Betty just loved being on the beach. Our weather was good - no rain - and we ate out well during the day and made our own meals back at The Bothy in the evening - mostly snack type meals as we were still full from lunchtime. The facilities at The Bothy were all excellent - everything worked - and I didn't think of one thing that was missing. There was even a bag of doggy toys and a ball thrower hanging up in the kitchen. The garden at the back was lovely and I imagine it will be beautiful in the summertime. The view over the fields was magnificent and I want to be able to sit in the boat seat. I would not hesitate to recommend The Bothy to anyone wishing to holiday in the area. We loved it and would love to come back again.
