"Excellent stay, beautiful hotel, helpful, friendly staff. However, very disappointing continental breakfast, which had to be ordered rather than a buffet, help yourself option. Just cereal, over ‘cooked’ toast and croissants don’t constitute a continental breakfast in a 5* hotel in my view. It didn’t detract from a lovely stay in Chester though!"

"Really friendly staff, great location by the racecourse. Breakfast as you would expect - they even brought the veggie sausages right to me so great service! Only issue were finishing touches to the room, I.e. dusty curtains and previously used milk pot by the kettle."

"Pros - Can’t fault the cleanliness of the hotel, our room was spotless and finished to good spec. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cocktail upon arrival is a great touch and we enjoyed the fun vibe of the hotel. Cons - The breakfast area downstairs was far too small to cope with number of guests on Sunday morning we were there, so lots of people were pushing through to get food and having to stand up against bar or use the bar stool seats. We also had people outside until early hours having lengthy loud conversations and smoking outside the front entrance underneath our room, which forced us to close window which made it incredibly stuffy."
