"We chose this hotel because we needed to park our van. The car park is part of the racecourse parking and we were charged £10 for our one night’s stay but, if we wanted could have exited and entered as many times within 24 hours as we liked. Hotel room was clean but a little ‘worn’ in places. Great shower and breakfast."

"The best breakfast we’ve ever had in a hotel. The facilities were excellent. The communal areas had lovely artwork, sculptures and decoration. The restaurant was excellent too. We loved the local and how easy it was to walk into Chester - so we didn’t need to get in the car quite so often, which made the holiday more relaxing. The rooftop car parking was easily accessible from the hotel too. The room was comfortably big enough for 4 people and we liked the large 55inch TV. Our only note - in our room - 307 - some of the wallpaper was peeling and the paint was a bit tired."

"It was an average larger hotel but we felt a bit disappointed by our stay, unlikely to return. The room was next to a dual carriage way and noisy with the cars/smelt of petrol fumes, when requesting a change of room we didn’t get much response. The place was generally a bit run down. The breakfast was ok but limited to traditional cereals and an average cooked breakfast- little choice for vegetarians, continentals or those who wish for more healthy options. "

"I have stayed at The Pied Bull twice in the last year when visiting from the US. I stayed in 2 different rooms, a twin and then a double, both in the main building. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The pros are location, being convenient to everything that Chester has to offer including sightseeing, shops and places to eat. The price is also reasonable for being in the city center. The cons are no parking on site, although there are many options within a 10 minute walk from the property. The showers in both rooms were very slippery and not very good at containing water, the bathroom floors were always very wet after using the shower, despite a bath mat. As far as staff, shout out to Peter who is friendly, helpful and professional. What an asset to the property. I look forward to staying at The Pied Bull in the future."
