The house has two apartments (i.e. Unit 1 on the main floor & Unit 2 downstairs).
Unit 2 (apartment downstairs) has the following characteristics: - it is spacious (3 large bedrooms); - it has large windows to let the sun and light come in; - it has its own private entrance; - it is close to trails for snowmobiles and ATV's (on trails, head towards Cheticamp & then follow sign to Sunset Vacation Home); - is on main street, within walking distance of restaurants, grocery store, church & hospital; - is a 20 min. drive to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, on the world-famous Cabot Trail, which has spectacular scenery & hiking trails; - is a 10 min. drive to the Portage Golf Course, beaches, bakery shop & pub with excellent fiddle music; and - is a 45 min. drive to two renowned golf courses in Inverness - Cabot Links & Cabot Cliffs.
Unit 2 is very central on Cape Breton Island, being only about a day's trip to most parts of the island.

The house was spotless, the beds were very comfortable and the bed linens were really nice and cozy. We loved the big deep bathtub, the washer and dryer, and the recliner sofa. We also loved all the space. It was by far the nicest place we stayed at during our trip!
Location was great for us as we were visiting family nearby. The unit was very clean and roomy. The amenities were more than adequate. Meeting our host was very enjoyable and she was a true example of the friendly people of the Cheticamp region.

We had a lovely stay in Chéticamp! The unit is so clean and very comfortable. We felt right at home. The area is amazing. MANY beautiful hiking trails and a short drive to pleasant bay for some whale watching tours. The drive between Chéticamp and Pleasant Bay is beautiful and scenic. Georgina’s home helped to make our first visit to Cape Breton a great experience.

We loved our stay in Cheticamp at Georgina's place. The unit was incredibly clean and comfortable, and located right on the Main St. of Cheticamp, close to everything. It is pet-friendly, and we had our two cats with us. Georgina was an amazing host and we wished we could have stayed longer. She even had homemade fudge waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. She has another unit upstairs in the same house and another entire house for rent on the same property. We stayed in the lower unit. All are available for rent, apparently. Highly recommend this place for a stay in Cheticamp. Great value and host.
Fantastic accommodations for a family. Everything you need . Great location, spotless and easy check in process. Don’t let the idea of staying in a basement fool you. It was bright and comfortable . Heat pump keeps the place warm or cold, whatever you like. Would highly recommend.
We where overwhelmed with the nice and so clean apartment. There was also a book with all things to do in the area, and the history of chéticamp.
We where with 4 kids. The rooms are big enough, good beds for 6 people. You can not get a better stay.

Our party of retirees thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. The beds were comfortable, the entire place was super clean and secure, and ample supplies were provided for our use. We greatly appreciated the personal letter and treat, as well as all the information for enjoying the area of Cheticamp. We had outdoor space available and a BBQ which we used. The location was walkable to several restaurants, the boardwalk, shops and sights. The host communicated in a timely manner and offered great information. A wonderful experience in a beautiful part of Cape Breton. Highly recommend.
Well appointed accommodation, good location in Cheticamp
When my wife picked out this unit, I had reservations because it is downstairs. Despite being downstairs, there are views of the Cheticamp harbor from 2 bedrooms and it is extremely well furnished, including dishwasher and washer/dryer, well designed and well maintained. Owner was extremely responsive and helpful. Additional pluses include a storage shed—we kept our bicycles there, it’s walking distance from several good restaurants and two venues with live music. A pleasant boardwalk along the harbor starts across the street. A downside is that the patio is in the back with views of the parking area, and the police station (we felt secure, however, because of proximity to police). Overall we had a great stay—I’d definitely stay here again!

This was our family’s first time doing a short term rental rather than hotel and the experience was great. Georgina was great with communicating and we appreciated the resources about the area and history of the property. Made travelling with a family so easy!
We were looking for a place to call home for family and myself while in Cheticamp for a wedding .. this was just right for us felt like home .. and the fudge was a special treat .. Thank you
