This is our second visit to Tamarind. We would never consider anywhere else in Chiangmai. It is a tranquil space.beautiful pool area. Great choice at breakfast. Rooms are cool and pristine. Gardens are lush and tropical and of course staff are very friendly and helpful. Top marks.

Hotel gives you a feel ofbeing in a. tropical oasis. Hotel restaurant and pool setting could not be lovelier Hotel staff could not be more accomodating or friendly. Rooms are lacking some minir repair. All in all a highly recommened place. Loved our stay as did our friends.

Oasis in Chiang Mai

Feels like you've stepped into an oasis from another time. Lovely Lanna architecture and Lanna touches in the tastefully decorated rooms, yet it is right in the middle of the Old City, steps from major temples and museums. During our visit we appreciated the calm and quiet after a week in Bangkok; the friendliness and attentiveness of the hotel staff who were full of helpful suggestions for our 3-day stay; and the restaurant with excellent northern Thai food as well as Western dishes. We loved and learned a lot during the free 2-hour walking tour of area temples and historic sites offered by the hotel. The hotel also arranged a day-long tour of Doi Inthanon National Park (highest peak in Thailand) and its beautiful waterfalls and cloud forest, nearby markets, gardens, and a local village and coffee operation. Tamarind driver Suwit Udnhun and independent tour guide Nearun Phanpaiboon gave us a day to remember - stunning beauty, background on the area's history and culture - and took great care to tailor the tour to our interests as we went along. We had a simply wonderful stay in Chiang Mai thanks to Tamarind Village and its people.

My room was like a box with outside lights on throughout the night. Barely slept for 4 nights. I am very disappointed. There are properties around that I have stayed before and thoroughly enjoyed with same access to the market. Breakfast buffet Meh. There is no gym. Pool is small and is where they serve breakfast from 7AM to 10 Am and the pool opens at 7 AM so could not swim either while people have breakfast around you. Ridiculous really. I booked this Hotel based on the previous reviews, that was blunder. For less money I could have stayed at Le Meridian which BTW is a phenomenal hotel. Oh BTW the staff was amazing 5 star for them. But my room was horrible.

Struttura di grande fascino in stile Lanna nel cuore del centro storico di Chiang Mai. Le attività culturali offerte aumentano il legame con la cultura locale. Il personale è gentilissimo e il ristorante merita una visita anche se non si è clienti dell’hotel. Ottima anche la colazione. Essendo un boutique hotel e non una struttura di catena aspettatevi qualche piccola scomodità, ad esempio assenza di ascensore (al massimo per una camera al primo piano) oppure tamarind suite su diversi livelli nella mansarda quindi con gradini tra i vari ambienti e nel bagno. Basta saperlo e va benissimo. Comodissimo anche per muoversi a piedi.

Charming Oasis with a Few Flaws Tamarind Village is a beautiful and serene hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, the location is perfect, and the restaurant serves absolutely delicious food. The design and atmosphere make it a truly special place. However, our room’s AC didn’t cool properly, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable, and the shower tended to overflow, requiring time between uses. Despite these issues, we loved the experience overall and would still recommend it for its charm, service, and setting.

Original Royal family property. In the old Thai style. Nice settling in the centre. Staff and breakfast very good. Daily activities which was an added bonus.
