It was the fact that they decided to go on break before checkout having us wait 30 minutes until they came back so we could check out.

The front desk felt unfriendly from the start. No smile. No welcome. Check in moved slowly and set the tone for the stay. The room smelled like smoke the moment we walked in. The metal bed frame made noise every time we moved. The bathroom felt mediocre and I preferred not to use the shower. The towels were thin and rough. The bath towels were also small. This stay did not meet basic expectations for comfort or service.
