"Staff went over and above to be helpful. Hotel was very old and quirky. Lots of character and charm. The broken radiator in my room was sorted out successfully. The toilet in the room did not flush terribly well and the shower low pressure. Lovely lounges to sit in and the restaurant was very attractive. We had a good breakfast."

"There is no parking for this hotel, my car had to be left in an open communal car park overnight, which I wasn’t happy about. The staff are very friendly & accommodating, especially the head waiter in the restaurant & the chap managing the bar. My room wasn’t vacuumed daily but bathroom was cleaned very well."

"Very convenient location to rye town. Hotel was clean, staff were great…. Very friendly and helpful. Room was light and airy with comfy twin beds and plenty of tea, coffee, etc. Large on site free parking. Very good breakfast. We didn’t have a drink at the bar so can’t comment but it looked like it’d be well stocked."

"We had a small room but very nice had everything we needed. I would point out that there’s some bad damp on the bathroom that needs attending to.."

"Bill and Val have a beautiful, well stocked, clean property and were amazing in helping decorate it as a 50th birthday surprise. The kitchen had everything we needed including all the cooking, tea and coffee essentials. The hot tub was great, a lovely log burner with a great stock of logs and comfy beds. We had a great long weekend here and will definitely be back. Situated so close to a lovely village with pubs and a great little cafe catering for gluten and dairy free."

"Perfect get-away break. Would have appreciated notice of the road closures on arrival day which resulted in parking the car half a mile away and walking in with the cases. Appreciate that was a one-off but not a great start to the break. Accomodation excellent."

"This property is every bit as good as it looks in the pictures and we loved staying here, it was to a high standard all round, very cosy and had everything we needed. As an alternative to Rye, Winchelsea is an excellent alternative if not better option as it’s much more like a tranquil village than a town. As long as you check the opening times the pub, shop and tea room have all you need. The property is located on a short lane but parking on the road at one end was no problem and very close. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area."
