"Had a lovely stay , the room had fabulous views as it was a premium room . Bed was really comfortable and slept very well the shower was lovely. Breakfast was ok definitely needs a bit more choices . Overall it was lovely definitely stay again"

"Lovely stay, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was kept nice and hot. We had Room 328 which was very bright and airy with panoramic views, the station, cricket ground and a corner view of the sea. The shower over the bath proved to be tricky in getting the right temperature without being scolded or it turning freezing cold, hence this took about 10/15 mins each day! Bed should be replaced, has probably seen better days as it was very squishy and bouncy, however, this did not ruin our stay. Both of the pools were very good as were the new changing rooms. Staff in the Compass Bar were very helpful and worked well in their roles, especially Ahmed who was always smiling, polite and helpful. Check-in staff were always professional and helpful."

"Unfortunately builders had been since the owner had last been to the property and getting to the key box was quite difficult with bags of sand and a pallet in the way. With 10 of us staying with 3 cars parking was abit of a nightmare( didn’t know it was Regatta weekend) The house has great views from the back, and newly refurbed bathrooms , please note there is no bbq, just a fire pit, with no grill. Paul was great at answering our queries and apologised for the sand bags! A few things slightly annoying only 9 chairs at table and it says high chair available, but it is one that sits on a chair , meaning only 8 chairs for dining if you use it! Would make sense to bring chairs from top bedroom to dining table and put a couple of comfy chairs up there to admire the view . Outdoors the table only seats 8 not ideal when there are 10 people! Bin outside was half full on arrival so we had to leave bags of rubbish outside.As others have mentioned stairs down to the kitchen are very narrow and steep, unavoidable but worth mentioning. Kitchen is fully stocked but could do with a big saucepan for cooking for 10 ! We all enjoyed our stay and was great for the weekend get together."

"On arrival, gave our room key and shown entrance when pub shut how to use everything etc. Put in a room which was fine but had tape down across the floor to the bathroom. When we asked for towels, Tommy apologised and said we should not even be in that room, so he helped my husband move to a bigger and better room. Tommy could not do enough for us. Breakfast has lots of choices. You just have to ask as there's no menu. Again Tommy brilliant with service and prompt delivery. A very happy chap. Id suggest a pot of sauces on the table for breakfast as its "can we have, have you got" all the time. Tommy stood out as a fantastic member of staff always polite and worked very hard.always a pleasure. Thank you Our room was very cold at night no heating on except set times so pleased that we had a hot water bottle, but we both had to wear clothes to get warm. When spoke to other residents they said the same.(No phone in the room to call anyone) Room smelt musty so could do with maybe a freshener plug in? The bathroom needs a table or some shelves as there is nowhere to put your wash bags down apart from the floor, and im not a fan of that! There could do with maybe a few more hooks in the bathroom too. 1 on the door is not enough. The room was tired, needs a freshen up on the paint and wall paper, beds comfy, lots of wardrobe hanging spaces, mirrors. Enjoyed our stay. Reasonable price too. "
