Set on a large private lot surrounded by nature, Casa Rosa offers a rare combination of beautiful Pacific Ocean views in front and lush jungle and mountains behind. The result is the best of both worlds: stunning sunsets, fresh breezes, complete privacy, and the feeling of being immersed in nature.

This is not a typical hotel-style vacation rental. Casa Rosa was designed as our personal family vacation home and is best suited for guests looking for a more authentic, nature-connected Costa Rica experience.

THE EXPERIENCE

The home is modern, bright, and intentionally designed to connect you with the outdoors.

Enjoy ocean views from the pool, balcony, and both upstairs bedrooms, beautiful sunsets almost every evening, frequent toucan and bird visits, jungle sounds at night instead of traffic or city noise, fast Starlink internet for remote work or streaming, and a quiet and peaceful residential setting surrounded by large private lots and high-end homes.

The house is cozy rather than huge, but thoughtfully designed and very comfortable for couples, small families, or very close friends.

LOCATION

The home is located in Ojochal on Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific Coast.

Ojochal is known for beautiful beaches, jungle and mountain scenery, waterfalls and rivers, excellent restaurants, wildlife, and a relaxed atmosphere.

The property is set high enough for excellent ocean views while still remaining close to restaurants, beaches, and local attractions.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS

The home includes 2 upstairs bedrooms, 1 shared upstairs bathroom, and 1 downstairs half bathroom near the pool.

Both upstairs bedrooms feature ocean and jungle views, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and screened glass doors.

The upstairs bathroom is open to the elements by design. We personally love the fresh air, natural light, and connection to nature this creates.

KITCHEN & LIVING AREA

The open-plan main floor opens on three sides for natural ventilation and airflow.

The kitchen includes a 4-burner stovetop, large toaster oven, BBQ grill, coffee maker, refrigerator, and basic cooking essentials.

Please note there is NO microwave, NO full-size oven, and NO television.

Instead, many guests enjoy disconnecting, relaxing, and streaming on their own devices using the fast Starlink internet.

OUTDOOR SPACES

Enjoy a private salt-water plunge pool, Gas BBQ, balcony with ocean views, outdoor seating areas, jungle surroundings, sunset views, and a new wood-look PVC deck.

The plunge pool is compact but refreshing and perfect for cooling off, relaxing, or enjoying a sunset drink.

INTERNET

The home includes high-speed Starlink internet, ideal for remote work, video calls, streaming, and longer stays.

We truly want guests to enjoy their stay and believe clear expectations are especially important for longer stays.

Casa Rosa is best suited for guests who appreciate nature, open-air living, and a more authentic Costa Rica experience. Guests expecting a fully enclosed hotel-style environment may not find the property to be the best fit.

OPEN-AIR TROPICAL LIVING

This is Costa Rica, and we are in the jungle.

The downstairs living area opens on three sides and is not screened. The upstairs bathroom is open to the elements.

Occasional insects are a normal part of tropical living, especially if lights are left on at night.

Guests who enjoy fresh air, birds, nature, and indoor-outdoor living typically love the experience.

AIR CONDITIONING

Both upstairs bedrooms have air conditioning.

The main floor does not have AC and relies on natural airflow and ventilation.

VEHICLE RECOMMENDED

A car is essential when staying in Ojochal.

A 4x4 is not required to access the house, and many guests arrive with a standard 4x2 driving slowly and carefully. However, we strongly recommend a 4x4 if you plan to explore beaches, waterfalls, hills, and back roads throughout the region.

UTILITIES IN THE SOUTHERN ZONE

As throughout much of Costa Rica’s Southern Zone, occasional power or water outages can happen from time to time. This is simply part of living in the area.

QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD

The home is located in a peaceful family-oriented neighborhood.

Maximum occupancy is 4 guests. No parties or events. Quiet hours respected. No pets.

PERFECT FOR

Nature lovers, couples, small families, remote workers, birdwatchers, longer stays, and guests looking for peace and privacy.

MAY NOT BE IDEAL FOR

Guests uncomfortable with insects or tropical environments, guests expecting hotel-style amenities, guests wanting fully enclosed indoor spaces, guests wanting nightlife or a party atmosphere, or guests wanting central AC throughout the entire property.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Washer and dryer included. Napoleon BBQ grill. Parking for 2 vehicles. Cleaning available upon request for longer stays. Pool maintenance and gardening occur periodically.
