Sunset Overlook - Pet Friendly Family Cabin with Gorgeous Sunset Views

Plan the perfect family vacation with a stay at this little pet-friendly gem. The rocking chair front porch welcomes guests to begin slowing the pace of daily life.

The powder blue-washed wood interior give a spacious, clean and refreshing atmosphere to this cabin. The high ceilings, wood beams and many windows allow for lots of light to shine in. On cold evenings enjoy the warmth and glow of the wood burning stove. Cuddle up on the leather coach for a tv marathon or enjoy the glider rockers with a good book. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove top and oven, as well as a microwave, crock pot, drip coffee maker and toaster. In the kitchen closet is the stacked washer and dryer. On this same main floor is the master queen bedroom and bath. Upstairs, the loft features both a queen and a twin bed with another full bath. For entertainment, there is WiFi, a DVD player and a CD player. There's plenty of space for relaxing either inside or out at Sunset Overlook. Don't miss the spectacular sunsets dropping behind Mt. Yonah from the back deck, screened porch or new outdoor fire pit. The night sky from this location is perfect for star gazing. Bring your star guide and see who can find the most constellations! Located only 6.5 miles from downtown Helen.

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $50 + tax for each additional.

Perfect for a weekend getaway

Christmas Vacation

Our stay was amazing!!! My children came from Florida and Nebraska. We stayed for 2 weeks. It was a great location, very peaceful and very clean!!! We will definitely be back to stay again.

Girls weekend

Our stay was so nice and relaxing. The property manager checked in several times. And went above and beyond making sure we had a pack and play for my grandson. All of us enjoyed coming in after a day of shopping and just sitting on the porch swinging and rocking! Will be recommending this place to anyone who needs a weekend gwtawa!

Rainy mountain weekend

The cabin was perfect, the view’s fantastic! We were celebrating my mother’s birthday and they even left a card and bottle of wine for the occasion. The cabin was even decorated for the holidays which is a nice touch.

The Best Spot!!

Oh this Cabin is so cute. We arrived just before Thanksgiving and they had holiday lights and a tree up. Such a warm welcome!! The house warms up quickly with the central heat and the fireplace is a picture perfect spot to get toasty warm. Took us less than 10 minutes to drive into Helen and enjoy the town and have a delicious meal! The cabin does have squeaky floors as mentioned in other reviews but I found it charming. The sunsets were stunning - excellent view. Quiet spot, can’t wait to go back again.

Cute and Comfee

The property was in a nice location but could have used some tidying up on the outside. Other than that, the place was cute, comfortable, quiet and convenient. Being dog friendly although pricy, is a big plus. We enjoyed our stay. The fees were high for a two-night stay. I assume if more nights were booked the fee distribution would have gotten more palatable?

Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Back porch has a few of the mountains. A nice fire pit in the backyard for roasting marshmallows. Are last day there we didn’t have water. The property manager did stay in contact with us the whole time it happened. They did refund us our last day since we did not have water. We would definitely stay again.

Last Minute venue change

While traveling to our destination- got a call it would not be available so we were given another site. I shopped the vendor online and asked them to find something that fit our expectations. They did. At least good enough to have an enjoyable time. Property needs maintenance- electrical, plumbing, and aesthetics. But a good time was had by all

It is structured kind of awkward with the door to one bedroom right by the front door but other than that it was a nice quiet place to spend the holiday and some down time with my son. The staff with Georgia Mountain Rental were so friendly and responsive and checked in with me not only before but right after I got there to make sure everything was okay.

17th wedding anniverssary get away.

Well kept cabin in the mountains of north Georgia. We were welcomed by a front porch with two rockers and a porch swing. Nothing says cabin in the mountains more than this. The rear deck over looks the hills and has a nicr screened in side which was nice for breakfast. The location was very quiet and peaceful. Exactly what we were looking for. The cabin is fully equiped with everything a person on vacation could want. The air conditioning was awesome and kept us very cool and comfortable amidst the 90 degree daytime temps we had during our stay. We felt as comfortable as if we were at home in this great property. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys peace and privacy. Would rent this property again

The rental price is very fair given the slight wear of the place. This is basic, very clean, very nice, very cute - a little of everything and tastefully done. The open bedroom loft is very cozy, especially when it rains! The beds are comfortable and clean, the furniture is nice, and the views are breathtaking both front and back! We loved the mornings when we'd hear a rooster crow to wake us and watch the mist burn away into the day.

Reviewer Comments: Cabin is in a nice quiet area, very pretty walk up and down the road, used the road for some cross country hill training with our middle schooler too. Cabin is very nice and very very clean! Beds were comfy, plenty of room for our family of 4. We had a great time, the location is convenient. 10 minutes to Helen, 45-1 hour from other places like Atlanta, Blue Ridge, Dahlonega, Ellijay. We would definitely stay again. Loved the screened porch for morning coffee/breakfast and used it every night. It rained every evening of our trip but we could still be outside while the kids were sleeping upstairs and we loved that!Very minor complaints, trash can step piece was broken, no cookie sheet in the kitchen or big bowl for mixing things (except a cute popcorn bowl) and the screened porch is not completely screened. The bottom half is actually open so we still had some bugs in there at night. As I said, very minor.
