"A welcoming home for a multi-generational family vacation. Kids (7, 9, 12) enjoyed the variety of "watercraft," as well as fishing from the dock. The owner was especially responsive and friendly. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen is well equipped--we cooked all of our meals and gathered around a large dining-room table to feast and talk. The game room kept the kids busy while the adults prepared meals. The deck and yard offer several quiet areas for reading/working. The fire pit by the water's edge was perfect for s'mores making. Nearby Lacawac Sanctuary features several trails, which include overlooks and excellent signage that explains the special geology and more. The Osprey Trail hugs a pond where we saw a beaver lodge, beavers swimming, an occupied osprey nest, and several snapping turtles basking in the setting sun. The supermarket in nearby Hamlin is well stocked, and the Bait-N-Basics shop offers a good selection of lures and live bait (plus a bounty of advice). Our stay was short, but we lucked out with great weather and had the lake almost to ourselves. Based on the density of motor boats tied to every available dock, my guess is that during high season, the quiet we enjoyed would be rare. We are kayakers and stand-up paddle boarders; we saw only two moving motorized boats during our stay--the patrol boat and a fan boat (right out of "The Everglades"--I'm dating myself)."

"We loved our stay! Host was very responsive each time we had a question. House was well cared for, clean, incredibly family friendly, and well stocked. We found the beds comfortable and plenty of activities to do there at the house. The amenities within the community were really nice too. Spent a day at the pool and the beach one day. The snack stand there was a nice surprise and was really nice not having to bring a ton of food/snacks to the beach with us. The area had plenty of things to do too. Spent evenings at restaurants within a half mile of the community. Spent a day at Lake Wallenpaupack which is only 20 minutes away too."

"We came to town for a family wedding. The cabin was beautiful and very spacious. Communication with host was very pleasant. There were plenty of towels for showering but not for the lake or pool. Just commenting on it because it was something I overlooked when packing for the trip so wanted to remind others. Thank you CJ for helping to make our trip so memorable by providing us with a beautiful home to create memories in."

"The house sits beautifully on the lake with amazing sunsets to enjoy. A motorboat, kayaks, and paddle boards all come with the house price. The whole family can be out on the lake together. Gavin was very quick to respond to any questions, a great host!Our family had a wonderful vacation at Poke a Nose!"

"This was a nice rustic cabin with plenty of room for our family of four. My girls loved the foozeball, games, and loft. We didn’t get to utilize many amenities because of the weather but the complex looked really nice. Host was responsive to my questions. We would stay here again."

"Traveled with family. We had a quick 2 day visit, great location, granddaughters loved the game room, So easy to communicate with owner. Early spring visit, so peaceful sitting on deck listening to the birds, loved it. We didn't get to enjoy all the amenities there seems to be so many to enjoy on the grounds. "
