"If you like character and history this is the place for you. However, if you like shiny new things that glean with stainless steel and glass this is not for you. My wife and I stayed one night on our way from Kamloops to Vancouver airport. We had driven past Chilliwack a number of times and finally decided to check it out. The Royal Hotel is much more interesting than the generic accommodations you get near the airport. It is a step back into the past, with a lobby that is almost unchanged...

If wanting to stay somewhere that feels like home as opposed to staying in a hotel you should absolutely not miss the opportunity to stay here. "This was a quiet property with beautiful landscaping. There was ample parking and a secure gate. The house was clean, the bed comfortable and we were provided with bathrobes and oversized towels. The owners willingly accomodated my awful dietary restrictions and we were served a wonderful breakfast, which was only eclipsed by the conversation with the hosts! We would definitely stay again!"
