The hotel is great. Only negative thing I would say is that the property is very close to the train tracks and the trains pass by very frequently at all hours of the night. The property does provide ear plugs, but who wants to sleep with earplugs? This property would be greatly served by investing in a sound attenuation system or high quality glass that deadens the train sound at all ours of the night. Also the restaurant on the second floor recently changed their menu and it is not for the better. They don’t have a single healthy item on the menu. Cobb salad with fried chicken? Seriously? They should revamp the menu and provide some healthy choices. All in all, great property if you are visiting Texas A&M or attending a sporting event, but if you are looking for a peaceful getaway this isn’t the place.
The staff was very helpful and kind from the front desk to the bar. The hotel location could not be beat if you’re there for anything on campus, and the common areas were lovely.
However, upon entering our room on the 4th floor I was smacked in the face by the most awful, musty smell that lingered the entire trip. Maybe it was a room used for people traveling with pets. I don’t know but it wasn’t good. Also, the train tracks below (I did not know about this going into it but that’s my bad because I guess everyone else is aware) are very busy and very loud throughout the night and early morning. I counted 3 loud train horns just between 4:30am & 6am one morning. The hotel even provides earplugs in the room because of the trains. I wonder why College Station doesn’t make it a no horn zone? Arlington has a population of 400K+ and the tracks are quiet zones so we can all sleep at night. The last thing I didn’t love was the room cleaning. They made the bed and brought clean towels and fresh coffee cups but did not remove the dirty towels from the floor or the dirty coffee cups. It’s like they begrudgingly do some things if you’re going to make them (because sustainability) but they’re drawing the line at picking up after you.
So overall, I gave it a 3. If location and amenities are what you’re looking for this is the place. If it’s clean rooms and a good night’s sleep, you should find someplace else. But honestly for $300/nt I expect all of those things from the same place.
My favorite place to stay in Aggieland! Five stars every visit!

Room was clean. They did NOT put complementary water a the room. Barely sleep the train would pass every 1 hour must of the sleeping hours leaving me up all night long. They should have put me an a better room away from the scandalous sounds of the train. Did not worth spend the night an a hotel to be up all night. Haven’t to drive 9 hours next day. Very unhappy!
The hotel is lovely. It faces the iconic Kyle field and allows you to take in the campus scenery. Restaurants are well staffed and offer delicious options.
Each room comes with ear plugs to help drown out the train after hours. But don’t be a grump- read about the amazing reason why the train horn is a part of the cities vibrant history. The ear plugs really do help cut the noise.
The hotel and staff were wonderful, but people need to be aware of the noise of both the train whistle and fellow guests. There were ear plugs left as an amenity, but it was very difficult to sleep as the train whistle blew all night and the walls are very thin. I would 100% recommend for the location and amenities, but the noise for me makes it unlikely I will return.
