My friend and I stayed here, separate rooms, and both had a great stay. The staff was all friendly and helpful. I do not speak German but the staff was happy to chat in English and Spanish. The location was great and easy to get around. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.

Lovely place

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Good quality bedding and the shower was powerful. Easy to get to from the Ubahn too. Room was super quiet and some nice little free bits and bobs offered too.

A really nice small hotel in central Cologne with very individually designed rooms. Very unique. And very friendly staff. Just be aware that the hotel is close to a street with lots of bars and depending on where the room is facing you might hear the noisy crowds in the night.

Cool place, good vibes!

It was 32 degrees outside so way too hot, but eventhough no airco was present, the room was provided with a fan. Kettle and mugs free for use, cold water as much as we wanted. Very very kind staff, clean and original room and superb location for a city trip, smack in the middle of The Belgian Quarter so a galore of clubs and restaurants within walking distance, and no noise pollution in the room at night due to well isolated room.

best kept secret in Cologne!

A Great small boutique hotel in the heart of the city... just far enough away from/to Cologne Cathedral / HBF... Friendliest receptionists of much of my travels... early check in was no issue when room was ready... reception area is relaxed and 'arty' with nice touches like self service coffee, snacks and good magazines.. room was 'fab'.. away from direct sunlight made it cooler by day and night... the waterbed and shell surround is both dramatic but also very practical.. the room had comp water/tea and coffee, a tablet computer plus a tv with every channel any guest could need.. the Glass walled bathroom and shower was fresh, clean and had cool toiletries, towels etc.. design features of this single room include a very strong nautical theme which made it very very relaxing... check out was again smooth and prompt... Im sad i didn't have more time to stay but its location to local amenities (Babylons pool on hot days) and restaurants makes it perfect for a city break. and it really is an Art Hotel... not just in name...

This is a great idea for a hotel; art gallery in each room. We were really excited for it. But alas, it was not meant to be. We stayed for one night, and the daytime temperature was 30degrees Celsius, and the hotel had no fans or air conditioning. They had two windows in the room to open, but there were a variety of Irish bars at the end of the street, so if the windows were open, you would hear all of that noise. But if the windows were closed, you’d over heat from the humidity. It was a lose-lose situation. The staff were friendly and inviting.

The jpte; gave me a room which required climbing up 8 flights of stairs, with heavy bags. No elevator, and no strong person to assist. This problem was never advised, and I would not have made the booking if it were known. Very disappointed in Expedia for not providing this essential info. Also, totally inadequate lighting in the room, along with a clear glass separation to the bathroom which could easily be crashed into with severe consequences.

Leuke en onderscheidend concept Alles eigenlijk via telefoon..zoals incheck uitcheck en openen van de deuren..wel echt iets meer voor mijn generatie en jonger want als ouderen geen mobiele telefoon hebben of hier niet handig zijn afrader..ligt centraal. Schone kamers alles voor handen wij hadden mauerzimmer..en de muur zou nog wel iets ludieks mogen als graffiti op de kale manier. Van mij mag de wc en douche deur met slaapgedeelte ook geblendeerd worden Koffie werd helaas niet aangevuld op kamer rest wel..

Die Zimmer sind unterschiedlich von Designern eingerichtet worden. Im Paradies zimmer war das Bett für mich etwas zu niedrig. Das Badezimmer ist durch eine Glaswand abgetrennt.

The good things: Beautiful boutique hotel with art themed rooms which feels special & fun Convenient to tourist areas, but off the main busy areas, so it is quieter, & has a more residential feel with local bakeries and shops Convenient new high tech checkin from your phone & it works! Friendly, helpful staff Convenient local transport to gamescom Areas to improve to be excellent: Fridge in rooms, a must Breakfast on site a must Air-conditioning a must Complimentary vip wine unable to leave in room chilled because there is no room fridge. It was left behind reception so we didnt use it and it took the surprise away Overall a good stay, thank you 18arts hotel team

Für unser Wochenendtrip haben wir dieses Hotel ausgewählt und wir sind wirklich begeistert! Super freundliches Personal, die Zimmer sind richtig gut ausgestattet (es gab sogar ein Glätteisen) und die Lage ist perfekt. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder hier herkommen! :)

Empfang war sehr nett, wir hatten eines der unterschiedlichen Designzimmer = Big in Japan. Zimmer im Dachgeschoss, gut gekühlt mit Ventilator, Bett bequem. Die Schiebetür zum Bad klemmt etwas, die Lage zur Friesenstraße ist recht laut - offene Fenster am Wochenende im Sommer quasi unmöglich. Wenn man jedoch selber lange feiert und einen tiefen Schlaf hat ist die Lage perfekt.

Perfect and quirky

Had a wonderful stay at 18Arts this weekend. Fantastic cocept, lovely room and a comfortable bed. Radio playing chilled music on entry to our room. Not an issue for us but there is no step free access at this hotel.

Ottima accoglienza, struttura molto bella e funzionale, con un tocco artistico in più. Bagno spazioso, comodo e dotato di tutti gli accessori. Unico elemento di attenzione: tante scale per raggiungere le stanze, come correttamente segnalato nell'annuncio alla voce: "Accessibilità". Non scordate una visita a Hommage Café lungo la via, che è un café incantevole.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Fürs Frühstück muss man in ein anderes Hotel ein paar Meter weiter, aber dort gab es alles was das Herz an einem Sonntagmorgen so begehrt. Wir würden uns hier beim nächsten Mal wieder einquartieren.
