A good centrally location hotel for a short stay

Good central location in Colombo with at least two shopping centers nearby - one block away from the sea but there is no real beach there. You can still go enjoy the sunset. The room was ok for - quite large for its price, reasonably clean, but definitely required some maintenance in the bathroom. I stayed there for a day-long layover (6am to 11pm) between the flights: needed something inexpensive, central location, private bathroom and free wifi + ability to sleep for a couple of hours. It served its purpose very well. It takes at least an hour to get to the airport from the hotel by taxi - keep this in mind.

Poor Management! you have to step up almost 2 floors to the hotel reception, that place was too hot, no AC there. No welcoming attitude, upon asking they said elevator is not working and when i said why ? they said management knows it and when i asked about toiletries , they said everything is inside but there was no toilet paper and no shampoo, just tiny little fingers soaps.Washroom condition is worst, lock is broken and no towel and clothes rack in the washroom. No TV inside the room as it was mentioned in expedia. When i called the owner, he just hang up the call. The owner is very rude and staff is ill mannered and untrained. When we came back after romaing around the city, the doors were closed and when i knocked the door, no one came. I called the reception guy and hotel owner but no one picked up the call. Then i saw other stairs behind the main entrance leading towards the hotel, i went up and saw that the staff was busy in playing games on mobile phones. The owner is very rude and staff is not trained, Totall not recommended .
