Our stay for our family of 4 at Aninga Lodge was fantastic. The room was clean and convenient. We spent a lot of time at the pool with the kids, they loved it, especially when the monkeys and toucans were hanging out in the trees. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only downside we found was the transportation between the hotel and Tortuguero town. There is a boat provided for the hotel every few hours, but it isn't often enough to be convenient. The other option is to take a taxi boat, but at $4/person it gets a bit expensive for a round trip for a family of 4. They could also do a better job of making sure their boat drivers look for you when you reserve a space on their boat. When we first arrived, we had scheduled a ride on the boat and they just told us to be at the main dock in Tortuguero 10 minutes in advance. We expected them to have a sign or at least call out our names or the name of the lodge. That didn't happen and the docks are busy so we had no idea which boat to get on. We ended up missing the boat.

This place is a trip! It’s accessible only by water taxi. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and have screen windows only - no glass! There are monkeys everywhere. The staff is very gracious and nice, and really made our trip special.

The place was absolutely stunning in nature with all the creature comforts incl. great pool and hot tub. Staff were efficient and friendly. The cottage was very comfortable and quiet. Logistics for various wildlife excursions were taken care of by the staff. An excellent stay!! 👏

Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden. Der Empfang war herzlich und wir bekamen sofort viele Informationen. Wir kamen später an, aber unser Lunch wurde für uns zurückgestellt, das war sehr angenehm. Wir hatten bei drei Übernachtungen viele Zusatzleistungen (z. B. 4 Ausflüge), die bei Buchungen über Portale nicht ersichtlich sind. Bitte die Homepage checken oder das Hotel kontaktieren; das erspart unnötige Tourbuchunegen und Kosten.

Aninga Lodge is a somewhat secluded lodge located in the rainforest of Tortuguero. We were pleasantly surprised that all meals and two excursions were included. The food was pretty good for buffet service. We had to take a boat to get to the village of Tortuguero, but we were surrounded by forest and the water. It would have been nice to have some options to purchase bar food or snacks. The staff was wonderful and they took care of us very well.
