Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Pros: lots of wildlife, kind and helpful tour guides and restaurant staff.
Cons: Our bed fell apart while we were sleeping, not a great way to wake up.
The resort was looking tired and needed a bit of updating.
Standard Room was very basic, had booked a bungalow but not available when we arrived, they are larger and more private however strangely the same price.
Restaurant was also very basic, meals were buffet style, but served, which at times were slow. However what we did eat I enjoyed.
The tours included were interesting and enjoyable.
As a package with the transport and tours not too bad deal but don't expect luxury.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The worst experience in Costa Rica. Service nul. Food ridiculous, no choice, horrible. Room without window, smell bad, activity with over price. Swimming pool not clean. Never again
Evergreen Lodge is on an isolated property accessible only by boat. While the area host wonderful experiences, plan accordingly for your tours as you will need boat taxis to get you to and from Evergreen Lodge to your destination.

Disliked: Staff & service
Terrible right from the start.
Took 30 mins to check as the reception didn't have any details. Was asked if I had the "right hotel". Wish I had said no now. This typified the attitude of the staff...
Although, the room was clean enough there was no water provided!!
And despite being full board I had to pay for water outside of meal time. Plus no one could tell me where meals were being served - I had to go looking myself!!
I have stayed in eco hotels all over the world and this is hand-down the worst.
PS I don't normally do reviews but I felt I had to this time. Evergreen has a lot of potential but they probably need to employ an experienced hotel operator.
The facility is well maintained and food is delicious. You would not want to leave this place if it had other means in transportation than the event boats. The standard three days and two nights offering is just right. Don't over stay unless you like to read by the pool all day long but make sure your book is printed in plastic. You would be disappointed if you expect a civil life with all the amenities because there were none. But you do get connected to the outside world by a slow wifi. We were enjoyed very much. Strongly recommend!
In general we had a wonderful stay. The all inclusive package really worked for us even though there was some confusion about activities and scheduling. Nature walk in the rainforest was very disappointing. It was on a concrete path around their other hotel's facility. We found out about other long, natural trails through the park from another guest. The food could have used some more variety and local flair. The best part was the peaceful and natural environment
