We enjoyed our stay while visiting Columbus Junction. The hotel is a bit dated, as can be expected in such a small town. But the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff was very kind and thoughtful. We would definitely stay again.
Was checked in very quickly. The booking got us messed up to a different room, but they immediately fixed that for us. Very friendly people. Very helpful telling directions for food. The room we stayed in looked like it was recently updated. Would recommend
Very clean remodeled hotel. I was nearby picking up an auction item but ended up needing to pick it up the next day. I put in hotel near me and found this oasis in a small town. Very happy with the room and staff.
We reserved a room for 5 people a day before and they ended up not even having it available/clean. We ended up getting two separate ones and requested non-smoking rooms and ended up having one that smelt like smoke. (My son ended up getting sick because the smell was really strong). Bedsheets looked like they weren’t cleaned, they had stains and some kind of crumbs/food on them. I feel like they could do a better job at cleaning the rooms. The bathroom had dirt/hair and there was dust on everything. The front desk lady was nice though - good customer service.
No one at the front desk at any time. Halls were dark. No coffee yet there were fixings for it. No vending machine. Room had cracks everywhere and the water in the bathtub wouldn't drain properly. Sheets & blanket was very scratchy. TV was the only good thing about this motel. Don't waste your time here.
Adequate for price, which was thankfully cheap. It did seem clean—which is a huge bonus. No coffee of any kind available. Missing at least 5 lightbulbs and/or fixtures. It appears owners may be trying to update this very old, dated, run down motel, e.g. new paint, new bed covering in one of our rooms, new hall carpet. They have a way to go.
i put it above the owner cam into our room with out knocking early in the morning parking lot dirty nails dead dried snake - handi cap ramp blocked by owners truck he could see i use a walker
It only owned the hotel for a month, he had done a lot of positive changes but there is an off a lot more to go. I believe the hotel had been neglected for quite some time. The carpet was new in the paint and the rooms were new, but the one ply toilet paper and the one bulb above the mirror in the bathroom was a bit disappointing. It was a nice enough place to spend the night but I wouldn’t have wanted to spend more than one night there, The bed wasn’t very comfortable, silver lining, you got exfoliated with your washcloth and towel.
I had booked at this motel through expedia, I had to stay an extra night to finish a job I was working at so i rebooked through expedia. The management denied my stay because they say that their prices on expedia are incorrect and they wanted to charge me a different rate which was 30 dollars more than my expedia price which i had paid for already. The owner of this location is a crook and wants to take advantage of out of towners. It's faulse advertisement if you see a price online then then they expect you to pay a higher price when you check in. There isn't any other motels or hotels around, but id rather drive an hour than to give this thief the satisfaction and my business. Worst experience I've ever had.
When i got there to check in they had lost my reservation and even with the confirmation number they were unwilling/unable to do anything for me. I had to find and book another room. I wasn't sure if I was going to find another hotel that was available that wasn't going to be $200 to $300 a night.
The new owner is really trying to upgrade the property. They took possession of the property in the last half of 2019.
The previous bad reviews are not true of the current condition. It is clean, quiet, and being well maintained by the new owners. Windows are new, paint is new, and it is not in bad shape.
No it is not a Hampton or a Hilton. It is a good place to stay if you need a room in the area. If I return to the area I would stay there again.

OK, but they charged my credit card after I had paid cash for the room.
Our first room stunk of marijuana and when we went to the front desk they told us that they told the night staff not to do that. No real concern at all. They gave us a new room that was old needs a lot of updates. The ONLY reason we stayed is because it was the only hotel in town!!!
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The only hotel in town but we enjoyed our stay. They were VERY accommodating and always had a smile. There was no coffee pot in the room but she brought us one!
