"There is a reason the Grandview has become our go-to on our beach getaway trips. This independently run hotel combines a fantastic location -- a minute from the sand, and one of the best beaches in Southern California, in the heart of Hermosa Beach and all it has to offer -- with great service and immaculate, well-equipped rooms. It's right around the corner from a half-dozen great restaurants, and a block from the Hermosa Pier. It's only a few blocks from the famous Strand, and Hermosa Cylcery (a block away) rents pedal as well as e-bikes that you can ride all the way to Venice, if you choose. Sea birds abound, and you can actually hear the waves from your room at night. The staff is friend and efficient. There is nothing we don't like about this hotel, including a very reasonable room rate. Great value all around, can't say enough good things"

"The bed had plastic on it which made it hard to sleep. No water in rooms (only tap), TV doesn’t work at all for any practical purposes. Karthik is great though! Hotel is fundamentally good needs a lot of work on minor things though. "

"I’m in love! The old building vibe is everything I needed for my weekend get away. The bed is comfy, and the view gave me life! We walked to everything we needed and watched the sunset right outside our hotel. If you want a beautiful get away spot THIS IS IT. We will definitely come back! "

"The manager and staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. Our room was beautiful. They provided extra blankets and pillows in the dresser and complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Location was perfect, right in the strand. We will definitely be booking the SW Beach Hotel every time we’re back in Hermosa."

"This hotel is a Boutique style hotel with close access to the beach. The view to the Ocean is somewhat obstructed but the outdoor sitting area make up for it. My biggest complaint was the lack of response from hotel staff when my husband and I complained about the loud noises from either construction in the room adjacent or from the garage. It was so loud we could not hear out TV. This occurred for hours starting at 6PM to 8PM. We called the front desk and she heard the loud noise and agreed it was too loud but when to investigate and never returned. No explanation, no apology, no solution or options. It was so disturbing my husband and I left our room (although already in PJs) and walked on the Pier to get away from the noise. I understand things happen but the way the staff handled it was completely unacceptable. "
