About this property
Cozy home close to Catamount, State Parks and the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
This cozy home located on a beautiful back road in Copake has a living room, dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. There is also an office with a desk for a quiet work space, with a full size futon. The front porch has seating that overlooks the yard and country road. In the back there is a large deck that overlooks a private back yard, where you can sit, relax, and watch the wildlife. You can also cook and eat outside with the gas grill, and patio furniture. The large yard is peaceful and private. You will be close to everything when you stay at our centrally located home, only 3 to 5 minutes from the town of Copake and Hillsdale, also Taconic State Park, and the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. Only 8 to 10 minutes from Catamount Ski and Zip line Mountain Resort and Bash Bish Falls State Park, 12 Minutes to Copake Country Club, and a 20 to 30 minute drive to the towns of Millerton, Hudson, Chatham, Austerlitz, Great Barrington MA, and Lime Rock CT. About 36 minutes to Tanglewood. You will have access to the entire house, except for the garage as we use it for storage. We also have two boot warmers, if you’d like to dry your boots and gloves in the winter months. Our house is located in a wonderful small community with only a few neighbors. Arriving to our house is easy with a keypad on the door, to let yourself in. There is also a ring security doorbell on the front door and basement entrance. Parking is also easy with a private blacktop driveway, but to get to the front door, you do have to go up stairs. The check-in time is 4pm, however I am often able to have the house ready earlier in the day. If this happens I’ll let you know a few days before you arrive.

Host left us many treats which was great for the kids and such a nice surprise. The spot was perfect for what we needed and where we needed to go. Our dog also appreciated the yard area and it was nice to have the plow early in the morning after it snowed.
The property was exactly as described in the listing. It was spotless and had all the amenities I could have hoped for. The location was super convenient, quiet and safe. It had a nice yard for walking my dog and good security lighting at night. Tara’s communication with me before, during and after my stay was superb.
The property and house were beautiful. The host was amazing giving us all of the information needed before we arrived and when we got there, there were snacks, condiments, and drinks already there! I would definitely stay with them again.
We stayed here for skiing over a holiday weekend. The place was *very* clean and Tara was very responsive to helping with the only issue we had (which was weather related and not related to the house). The house is well outfitted and they also left a few basics for us in the kitchen which was a nice touch.
This was my second or third visit to the property in September for the Roe Jan Ramble. Clean as a whistle in all rooms. Nicely stocked kitchen and good pots and pans. The deck is a nice place to gather. Close to the HVRT, restaurants. I had some friends join me this year. I had to ask Tara some questions just before we left home and I received quick responses. No negatives on this property.
The Harlem Valley Rail Trail is a great bicycle trail and the house is in the perfect spot to get to it, less than half mile away. The house is clean and perfectly maintained, and the hosts are gracious and accomodating.
Cleanliness, host communication, accuracy of listing - all top notch. This is just a great home for a Copake getaway, exploration. Snacks, drinks, fresh local eggs - all stocked for guests' enjoyment. It doesn't get more welcoming than that! Tara was a pleasure, ready with repsonses, answers, guidance. And most importantly - hospitality! Thank you!
Perfect! Quiet, clean, and comfortable with extra touches that show interest in guests relaxing. Would be even more enjoyable for us in warmer weather, when we could relax on the deck or in the yard. A picturesque area with an old barn up the street. We would love to stay here again.
Also, check out the nearby Little Apple Orchard and Cidery. A quiet and relaxing spot five minutes by car.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at this very clean and comfortable property. Checking in was super easy and we very much appreciated having early access. The hosts have done a wonderful job with lots of small details and thoughtful touches…like bathroom amenities, a well stocked kitchen and a wonderful assortment of snacks and beverages. The beds were comfortable and the linens/towels soft. Tara the host was great to communicate with and gave several suggestions for local eateries. We would definitely return!
Nice, clean and comfortable home.
We arrived on a Sunday night when all the stores were closed, you are in the country after all. We had a welcome surprise, the owner Tara had some nice breakfast items in the refrigerator. Prompt communication with the owner. Location was great for us, visiting a family member only 4 minutes away.
We enjoyed our stay.
We came with our 2 young children and had an amazing time. The cute little house was equipped with everything! The hosts thought of everything to the smallest details. A great back porch and just a cozy and welcoming feeling of our stay. We attended a wedding nearby so needed to stay in Hillsdale. We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended. Thank you for everything!
Definitely one of the top places we’ve stayed. I took my kids and met my girlfriend and her daughter to go ski skiing for the weekend. It was the perfect location close to the mountain (Catamount), but the best part was the thoughtfulness of the amenities of the home. The fridge was stocked with seltzers, waters, juices, small stick of butter Creamer for coffee. There were spices, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. Just having those little things made such a huge difference in our experience and made the house feel more like a home. The home was very well stocked with towels, bedding, extra blankets and cozy blankets for the couch. The communication with the owner was excellent and we would definitely return for another stay!!!!!
Tara’s home was ideally situated to Catamount, dining options and the supermarket. It is also a short drive to Taconic State Park. We dropped the teens off to ski and then we headed to the park for a short hike. We loved our stay. The house was clean and cozy. Tara is a very thoughtful host - she had stocked granola bars and chocolates, pods for the Keurig. But what was over the top in hospitality was the dozen eggs, cream, juices and seltzers she stocked for us in the refrigerator! It was such a wonderful surprise! The view of the snowfall was glorious from the living room window and the property itself provides ultimate privacy. Tara was great with communication throughout our stay. We will definitely be staying here again!
Tara contacted me to say that the property was ready for an early check-in. My husband and I were in Copake for the Roe Jan biking event. The Copake Park was about 5 minutes from the property. The house was spotless and well organized. There was good lighting outside which we liked as we were out after dark. The kitchen had some handy refrigerator items such as eggs, butter, half and half. The furniture was very comfortable. We will definitely return to this property. You really feel at home. The extra bath is a plus.
We’re a family of 6, 4 kids ranging in age from 3-14. I want to start off by saying I’m most likely not allowed enough characters to summarize how much we loved our stay here. It was a highlight of our 11 day, 10 state road trip. First, the host is wonderful to work with. We checked in around 11pm and were so grateful to see breakfast foods/drinks stocked in the kitchen. It was a huge help when we woke up and didn’t have to hurry to a grocery store. We ended up checking out late (laundry took longer than I planned for 🙈) and it was handled beautifully. The property and home are beautiful and the area is very quiet and peaceful. It truly was a relaxing oasis during a busy trip. Everything was either brand new or perfectly clean. We took full advantage of the yard and deck, the kids loved the fluffy green grass and space to run. It’s very close to multiple state parks as well as Lime Rock Park Raceway, which was why we initially chose this home. We didn’t plan to come back to this area for a trip but are finding ourselves considering it as each of us enjoyed the property and area so much. I’m so glad we found this gem.
Its a beautiful piece of property in a beautiful part of the country. Host was great and communicative. It exceeded our expectations and we will most certainly be coming back.
We stayed at the house for a wedding and it was a great location. The house was very clean. The host left snacks, water, drinks and local eggs. The host was very easy to communicate with even when we had a question before booking the house. We would definitely stay here if we are in the area again.
